What do you need in your bag?

When I went back to carrying my clubs I had to make sure I kept my bag as light as possible, 8 extra golf balls, couple gloves range finder and water. Obviously clubs as well but have found I could drop a couple of them without it causing an issue

Bag was getting a bit heavy so I had a look inside and apart from the stuff I did need such as clubs and waterproofs I am not sure that I needed in the quantities that I had.
54 Golf balls
9 Gloves
7 Reading glasses
7 Old score cards
13 Pencils
6 Pitchmark repairers
8 Defunct range tokens (we are now on a card system)
4 Face masks
Old edition rules of golf
4 Ball markers
Far too many tees
Oh and £7.54 in coins

My bags a bit lighter now, though I'm trying to think out the optimum number of balls.

Your Bag sounds like a right hoarders bag!

My bag has;
  • Clubs
  • 12 Balls
  • 60+ Tees
  • Pouch with Divot Tool, Ball Marker, Hand Sanitiser, 3in1 Club Brush, Sharpie.
  • Glove
  • Scorecard holder and pencil
  • Rangefinder
  • Towel

15 balls and 6 gloves is as bad as my gets: Except

2 hankies
2 x rules of golf
packet of glucose tablets - best before 23rd May 2020 (right at the bottom of the large pocket and nowhere near where I'd keep food

Other than that, pretty good

I tend to have:
6-8 golf balls
Couple of handfulls of tees
Pitchmark repairer / ball-marker tool
Couple of Sharpies, a biro, couple of pencils
Adjustment tool for woods/driver
Waterproof jacket & gilet
Glove, old glove in case I've misplaced the primary glove, and raingrip glove
Little handwash spray
Clubs obvs

I think that's it, might've forgotten something.
Edit: towel and groove-brush hanging on the outside too..and umbrella.

AAAGH
They're breeding
I haven't done a recount but have got a new lighter bag to take away on a trip to Ireland next week.
Emptied old bag and I have around 40 balls and 6 pairs of glasses along with other assorted detrius.

4 balls, 6 tees, 1 glove, 2 blank cards, 1 pitch repairer, 2 ball markers, 2 pencils, 1 sharpie, waterproofs if rain likely, no rule book.

13 clubs, 15 balls, bag of tees, insect repellent, 3 gloves, marker, pitch repairer, pencils (mostly IKEA) ball retriever, cap, bag of cash.
Oh and bow and arrows of course !!!

Pretty much the same as everyone else except the balls. I usually start with about six but end with, depending on how slow the round is, well my record is finding 53. I only found 35 yesterday without really trying.

I wish I found 35 balls on a round!! That would be amazing (apart from the bag getting heavier and heavier!)

You forgot to include your speedos, for when you strip down to collect balls from the lake ;)

They're breeding again after the winter.
I had a look through
Didn't do a full count of everything but 51 balls, three pairs of reading glasses and six gloves is definitely too many.

Tomorrow will be the first time out on the course with a Mizuno Pro bag I picked up in January. Playing in a members only AmAm.
Won't be needing the rain hood, a brolly or waterproofs, so I put the entire contents on the kitchen floor.

Two bottles for water, little plastic container for tees, ball markers and pitchmark repairer, glove, small spare towel, sunblock stick, green marker pen, 8 balls, rangefinder, rules book, valuables pouch, small biscuit tin and scorecard holder.
Tidy.

How the hell do you end up with 50 balls? I only go out with about eight, and I never find more than 2 or 3 decent ones that are worth picking up. If I added up all the balls I own, including not in the bag at home, it probably wouldn't be a lot more than 50.
