What do you have with your steak?

Have to agree, kethcup on a steak is just wrong in so many ways. It's like putting Lemonade in wine :p

Have to agree with you there, although Homer suggested vinegar!!

I personally prefer well buttered new potatoes with my steak, along with a huge mushroom and fried red onions.

Chips and peas. And don't forget life is like a burnt steak. Tough, hard and the chips are always stacked against you.

Chips - thick cut ! - peas

Sometimes some sweet potato wedges

Potato dauphinois
Chopped leeks sautéed in butter, white wine and a little bit of mustard
Same mustard on the side
Lots of fresh ground black pepper

Chunky Chips (well done) Grilled tomato, Mushrooms, onion rings, Black pudding and English Mustard.

That said, I'm not a massive Steak fan. Id usually go for Seafood or a good piece of Lamb!

Yum yum, another foodie thread

Gonna get a couple of steaks for tonights tea and I'm after a bit of inspiration.
I usually do them with good old chips (oven type as I don't wanna deep fry em), garlic mushrooms and some sort of gravy made from the cooking juices.
Kinda getting bored of chips so what else is there?

Well, what did you have in the end?

Croquettes, mashed or boiled new tatties or chips , parsnips, battered onion rings, cauliflower with cheese sauce, pepper or blue cheese sauce on the side.Just to keep my 12oz pink steak company. And a nice bottle of Merlot or 2 to wash it down.

have mine with chips or potato wedges, mushrooms, tomato and - if available - stilton butter. Plus deglaze the pan (with water) and reduce for a nice thin 'sauce'. Will sometimes season steak with a garlic, pepper and chilli seasoning.

Steak gets very boring. I work away…a lot… and get a healthy £45 to spend on food a day. Might only have steak once in a few weeks.
I really don't get the whole man thing with steaks.

Chips coated in garlic olive oil and a bit of cayenne pepper, mushrooms cooked in garlic butter, all smothered in bois boudrin which I'd not made before but was very nice.
Missus had fillet, I had ribeye and a bonus sirlion...as you do

Did you get fitted for them by your pro? I always felt my steaks were the wrong size or weight for me before the fitting!
