Yum yum, another foodie thread

Gonna get a couple of steaks for tonights tea and I'm after a bit of inspiration.
I usually do them with good old chips (oven type as I don't wanna deep fry em), garlic mushrooms and some sort of gravy made from the cooking juices.
Kinda getting bored of chips so what else is there?

you could make a potato fondant.

I usually make a simple peppercorn sauce aswell

You're not really bored of chips, that's a rash statement you'll regret!

Anyway, swap to fries with a side of saffron rice and onion rings (battered, don't dare use breaded) You'll be surprised how well the rice goes with the jus

Get some sweet potatoes, chop them up, par boil them then roast them in some butter with some other veg of your choice (carrots, parsnips, courgettes, peppers, etc) and a peppercorn sauce and english mustard on the side imo. Make sure you rest the steak properly before eating too ;)

Been having fries with steaks recently, I put them in the same bracket as chip ;)
Not really thought of rice with steak before, may have to give it a shot.

Two slices of bread and tomato sauce?

I jest, although I had a steak baguette a few days ago and it was lovely. Sirloin cut into strips, stir fried in a sze chuan sauce with a bit of onion and peppers. Green leafy stuff on the side, simple, filling and tasty.

But seriously, it really should be chips, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. :)

Mahoosive rocket and watercress salad with vinaigrette, fried onions, grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with thyme, onion, garlic and black pudding.

We don't need no steeenken cheeps.

Potato wedges - HID chops tatties up into wedgie shapes, shoves in a plastic bag, add salt, pepper and a little olive oil, give it a good shake, then bung contents into hot oven for 20 mins or so
Jacket Potato - micr for 8 mins, then take out, roll in olice oil, salt and pepper, then bake in hot oven until skin crispy

I also like a grilled tomato with a good steak
