First comp of the year.
"Team doins" formerly "Team Tash" opens our winter open comp today.
Shoes and clothes cleaned, clubs cleaned, Tash trimmed, early night, off to the range.

What can go wrong

Ball topped off the first tee, in an over exuberant swish, there's so much top spin on the ball it buries itself 6 inches in front of your tee, it then pops back out over your shoulder, where it lands a couple of feet behind you, the spin rolling it forward to a few inches behind your tee.

Have you seen the weather forecast? Our place is closed again and the December 5th comp has been postponed AGAIN (3rd time) and will now be on February 21st "Weather Permitting".

Exactly - play like a golfing god today, reassess goals and handicap targets for the year then spend the summer hacking around in frustration wondering just what it was that "clicked" that golden day in February..... :ears:

That sounds lie my golfing life........for some strange reason I always played my best golf in February.

As daft as it seems, summat did go wrong. So much so ave started another thread coz it's a story in itself we could all learn from.
Re golf, it was ok, but when one of the lads at our place, playing off scratch shoots six under inc six birdies and an eagle. You have to bow to the greater man. He got 3 X 2s inc an eagle two. So well played that man.
Had some good lads down from wath on dearne ( Donny). Anyway they were gob smacked at the condition of the course and raved about the greens. nice to hear said a lot of courses inc there's has been closed for ages and its no fun playing off mats.
