I must say that your image reinforces to me that links golf looks so bland. It's tough, it's the origins of the game but a camera will always make it look quite flat and uninspiring

You are right. A links course looks pretty bland when viewing it as a whole but the reality once you are amongst the swales and borrows is vastly different. Then add in the wind factor and you have a course, that to play, changes daily. Given the choice of what looks the nicest it is a parkland course but given the choice of what to play week in week out its a links course because its different pretty much every time.
