Where are you heading this year? Thought it might be a good thread to say where you're going, reviews on where you played, stayed and the area plus any recommendations for golf hire, transfers, trip organisation etc.

So many threads on courses etc abroad. Be good to hear and be able to look in one place.

Going to Fuengirola in May for 4 nights playing Cabopino, Calanova and Mijas Lagos. Courses and transfers all booked via Sunshine golf. Will review all on our return.

Played Costa Adeje golf in Tenerife at NY, stayed in the new GF Victoria hotel in Adeje just along the road. Lovely wee place called La caleta maybe 30 minutes walk with beautiful restaurants and a couple bars. Probably best time I’ve had in Adeje think about the 6th time I’ve been. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else now hotel was fantastic.

Golf wise I thought Adeje was really good, quite expensive but great views and pretty good condition, I’d say best I’ve played from the few roundabout Tenerife. Shop was lovely too got a nice wee FJ 1/4 zip, although again a tad pricey.
Used an English guy Peter at golf club hire Tenerife, hired clubs and he sorted tee time and picked up in his wee van at the hotel and dropped off again. Great clubs considering, Taylor mades and quite a recent spider model putter which was good, buggy hire, bag, balls, tees etc everything took care of, he was first class.

Belek for a week in May, Staying at the Sirene. Playing the Pasha, Sultan, Caraya and Nobilis.

Done Belek several times, dont have a bad word to say about the place. Played all 4 of the above courses (and several others) in the past loved the first three, the Nobilis is OK but that is as much a reaction to the hopsitality there, which was lacking compared to other courses we have played.

Been with a number of operators, GolfKings (used them 3 times) were decent enough, this year we are going with YourGolfTravel...so far seem to be competent. Not allowed to say anything about **** ******** ****** as part of the legal settlement when we took them to court to get our money back ,after the travel restrictions and flight cancellations due to covid back in 2020.

Played in Spain and Portugal but to be honest prefer to play Golf in Britain / Ireland...enough great courses throughout England, Ireland - Scotland and Wales .... great choice, you can drive with clubs....easy to arrange...geat places to stay and golf courses are best in world....I am Irish so used to rain/wind and I get sunburn when its 20 degrees! So many areas and courses stilol need to Play....Ive played golf from Isle of Aaron to Co Wexford South Ireland......so many great places and courses....we are so lucky. I even have 10+ courses within 30 minute drive from my house.....

We’re off to Vilamoura, Portugal at the end of April, staying and playing at pestana Vila Sol. Can’t wait. 3 loops of 9 holes for some variety, no long transfers to and from the course, hopefully some nice places to eat and drink in the town afterwards. Never been to Portugal.

We’ve been to Spain a few times, loved the convenience of la Cala, but it’s a bit remote. Stayed/played around Marbella the last couple of times, lovely place and courses, cracking weather, but sooooooo expensive when you’re out, eye watering.

Finally, just booked Cullinan Links in Turkey for my mate’s 40th next feb. Never played in Turkey before, courses look nice and the hotel looks stunning. Hoping to tick night golf off the bucket list!

A busy couple of years as it’s my 50th the year after, at the moment we’re planning on doing a bit of a tour of Scotland, but we haven’t decided where/which courses yet.

We played in Tenerife over Christmas and new year at Las Americas golf club.
Its only a 5 -10 euro taxi ride from where we stay, 130 euro a round so far from cheap , but we play there every Christmas and the lady on reception remembered us and did a half price green fee so we ended up paying 100 euro each (buggy was 40 euro)
The weather was fantastic and the people we got paired with (always a lottery) were brilliant on all 4 days, we booked all of this ourselves
Early April off to belek, staying at the sueno and playing the pines and the dunes. We’ve been there before and it worked really well for us so we have just stuck with it, while were out there I think we’ll have a look at some other hotels just out of interest as they are all quite close together
we booked with Bilyana golf who we have used before and had no problems with

Hopefully theres a lads trip to spain/Portugal in September time

We did the Pestana courses in October, really enjoyed it. Busy but still a good trip.

We are off there in 2 weeks time, 2 rounds on The Pines and 2 rounds on The Dunes. Really looking forward to it, good to hear you enjoyed it.

What did you think to the respective courses? Have heard The Pines is tough, am a bit worried it might be a bit too much for some of our group. Majority are in the 15-20 HI bracket, a couple will be a bit higher.

We went to Oman in January (excellent reasonably priced golf), in a couple of weeks we have a week in Marrakech (we are mainly playing Fairmont Royal Palm but also playing Noria), then my wife is off with her friends playing in Portugal early May, I am doing a similar trip with the boys in June - Tavira (Quinta south, Isla Canela, Quinta da Ria and Quints do Vale), then we are going away with our annual mixed trip with 16 players plus some non playing partners to Almeria in September and then we're off to Palm Springs in November (not sure where we are playing yet but did all the PGA West courses, Torrey Pines and a few others last time so will be looking for some new ones).

I’m staying at Calanova for 5 nights at end of April, have 3 rounds booked plus a day at Santana (which came recommended). Booked via sunshine golf too.

Morning Mr Rudebhoy
They’ll be fine, the pines is the championship course and the dunes is the easier of the 2 but at the end of the day its holiday golf, your with your mates in the sunshine drinking all inclusive Gin & Tonics!

I played with my Lad whos off 1, im off 14, my father in law was off 16 and his significant other the widow twanky was off 30 odd and we all got round unscathed (lost a few balls here and there but nothing to brutal)

Playing off the correct tees helps, and it’s a lovely set up. Great course and great hotel.

I hope you enjoy it mate

Pines is the better course. It’s not that difficult, typical resort style course.

The 9th and 18th are island style greens right in-front of the Golf hotel/Clubhouse and usually packed with people watching you truing your hardest not to ditch one in the water.

I'm looking to that (watching others put their balls in the water)!

Thanks for that, can't wait for it

We're back off to Le Touquet again this year, it's very easy to get to, courses are good, plenty of food & drink in town - we leave early Sunday, play Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and back in the UK Tuesday PM, which works well for those with busy jobs/families.

Played the olympos course at cullinan links last year.. Great condition.. Couple of holes next to the sea.. It's short and quite tight.. The hotel is plush to say the least...
Njoy.

Looks great, thanks for the pic. Yeh, the hotel looks amazing, feel really guilty to be honest, me and my wife never stop anywhere as nice as that when we go on holiday!

Rick Shiels did a break 75 there a year or so ago so I’ve been watching that, can’t wait to go.
