So, headed up the Hirsel for the first round of my little golfing weekend and everything was going well until it started raining. Took my waterproof jacket out and threw it on. Now playing in the rain doesn't normally bother me but this was relentless.

Half way through the back 9 I started to get really cold, fed up and mentally I think I'd thrown the towel in. Anyway finishes the round, took off my jacket and my jumper was soaked! My jacket had been leaking and that's why I was so cold.

Tried to dry my jumper of before my round at Goswick but no good and I can't see the point in going back out in the rain if my waterproofs are only going to leak again.

Totally gutted. I just hope it's dry tomorrow when we play Alnmouth.

Feel you mate, we have that most days recently, our kitchen has been like a wet golf supply store with stuff strune everywhere!!

I dont have that excuse today though we had an ok day for golf, pretty dry and no wind. Played like a dog, not happy.

richy, i was the same splashed out 250 on sunderland waterproofs a couple o years back, when it was really wet u got soaked and they wayd a ton..ended up buying galvins last year and best money ever spent

Our club championship is over two days this weekend and I couldn't play as I'm working both afternoons. The only tee time I could get was 6.52am today and I set off in glorious sunshine. Had a half decent knock, too, including my first eagle of the year and a couple of birdies.

I got back into the clubhouse just as most of my mates were arriving for their tee times, and as I settled down to a bacon roll the heavens opened, and it hasn't stopped raining since!

Poetic justice for us weekend workers who sometimes have to miss these big competitions!

drowned rat here today. Tee'd off in the rain, rained for 18 holes and was still going when left the clubhouse after a shower and a couple of beers, good for the course but not much fun

Mixed for me today, bright sunshine for 10 holes, steady but not over heavy rain for the next 6, dried up again for the end of the round then has been lashing it down ever since.

played 18 today in constant drizzle and my proquip pq lite jacket and trousers kept me dry as a bone. V happy and can highly recommend them

unfortunately they didnt help my game though, still played crap :)

Our club champs over 36 holes and two days this weekend. Glorious yesterday, but I counted 34 N/Rs on the board when I swam into the clubhouse at 4 this afternoon.
