Westwood is gash!

You don't get to Number 1 in the World with the short game of a 15 handicapper.

And to think he has the short game of a 15 handicapper is possibly the most ridiculous thing since David Icke came out.......

lol david icke said the isle of arran would sink, i look out to arran every day and its never moved

Westwood could probably give most forum members a game, apart from Bob and Amanda, of course. But judging him by the rarified standards of forum members isn't really appropriate. The PGA Tour publishes a huge list of performance stats. Here are Lee's putting stats:

Stat Rank

Putting from Inside 5' 95.67% 139th
Putting from 5-10' 47.79% 177th
Putting from - 10-15' 36.97% 10th
Putting from - 15-20' 18.46% 88th
Putting from - 20-25' 11.86% 81st
Putting from - > 25' 6.85% 42nd
Putting from 5-15' 42.75% 144th
Putting from 15-25' 15.32% 85th
Putting from 3-5' 86.18% 117th

Apart from the 10-15 feet category, he is mid-table or worse in most of the rest. The full list of stats is here:
http://www.pgatour.com/golfers/020396/lee-westwood/performance-stats/#uber

My reading of this lot is basically that he hits a lot of greens, generally decently close to the hole compared to the field, and he scores a decent number of birdies but he doesn't score as many as he should given his approach play, and he doesn't do so well after missing a green.

To be fair I said 12 handicap.

Wonder if Oli will consider playing himself ahead of Lee???

Like I said before, I wouldn't mind being a few places behind him in the world rankings and a few quid behind him financially, and any one on here says otherwise is a liar IMO ...

Now that might not be a bad plan, do you have a direct link to Oli better to cover all bases and let him know.

Just think it was just over a week ago that most folk were talking about the German Bloke and how bad he was playing but after this week Lee has played like a real Chomper and I am not sure he can turn it arround for next week and I don't think he was that great at the last Ryder Cup.

We could have a money where your mouth is bet between the English and Scots. Westwood against Lawrie, who scores the most Ryder Cup points. Losers pay the H4H charity. I will happily put tenner on Westwood.

You must have money to burn, but if you want to go making bets please make it worth our while.

If he keeps playing like he did this week then he could be playing in the club medal in just over a year.

Are you saying you wouldnt be happy to be as good as lee Westwood bomber?

I would love his game of the tee along with his long iron game but if I was him I would be spending a lot more time on my short game and putting, it ain't rocket science.

My short game is in good shape and would fancy my chances against his short game.
