I bought a motocaddy DHC trolley, and I'm finding the speed control very frustrating. 4 is too slow and 5 is too fast. Has anyone tried to modify or hack either the controller, or motor to make the speeds a little better?

I found the speed control on the Motocaddy really frustrating. Not with it being too fast or slow...it just randomly decides what speed it wants to go at and I sold it. I had to replace the speed knob immediately after buying it.....it was even worse at the beginning. I have since bought a GoKart, it has a knob that lets me set whatever speed I want.....which is kind of a problem because I spend all my time adjusting it. Maybe I'm just nuts.....yep.

I think Motocaddy should come up with a design that separates the on/off and speed....I think that's part of the problem.

No problem with my Motocaddy. I think having the speed controller in with the on'off button makes logical sense.
If it worked on all the trolley's I'd agree. Many people I've talked to have the same problem of random speeds when turning things back on. Mine worked better after I replaced the button shortly after buying the trolley......not great, but a lot better.
