Weekly Club Competion Results Confirmation

When do you get your weekly competition results finalised. Everyone knows the results on the day if you ask around, but when do you know for certain after the cards have been checked for score errors or unsigned cards etc. I know I won yesturdays comp but am twitching at the thought I may not have sighnrd my card. Phoned the clubshop and they said it could be Tuesday before I know! That's 3 nights lost sleep!!!! Seems a long time to wait for confirmation, surely it should be done on the day of the comp?

Normally within 48 hours at my club. Normally the final result is on Howdidido within 24 hours but weekend comps can take a little longer.

We have a Winter League where you can play your round on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Results come out on Wednesday.

I agree, it's a lot of sweating! But worth the wait if you've played well and get confirmation.

Ours are done whenever one of the comps committee do it. Sometimes on the day and sometimes a couple of days later.

They always have a good reply for those insisting it should be done faster ... volunteer yourself, sit in the bar until everyone is finished in the comp, then sit with all the cards checking them, then publish the results yourself !! ..... usually gets a smile

I know what you mean, but it just seems like a long time to wait. You put your score into the computer immediately but then have to wait days to make sure you have won. It seems a bit odd!

I know what you mean, but effectively the computer does the job of sorting them into a table for you and calculating the CSS, but doesn't do the checking of scores, ands sigs that's still manual, and that's where the time goes if nobody is around to do it. Our comps guys are certainly not going to hang around for hours upon hours waiting for all competitors to finish ... Anyway they'd be vey drunk if the did

weekend comps go on the computer, leaderbaord there for everyone to see so can find out there and then, midweek comps are usually the sunday following the comp but can be a bit later (tho the grapevine results are usually known by the bar staff)

Ours are done on the evening of the day or the next day at the latest

our winter league cards are done by the pro on the day so the winner knows at the end of the comp.,the summer comps go on the computer and you know were you are straight away,the cards are checked on monday and confirmation posted on web site and notice board along with the 2's list.

If Wayne is in the shop then it'll be next day - if he's on holiday it could be 2 weeks.
Why nobody else can deal with things in his absence is unclear.......

Noticeboard by Monday and section winners mentioned in local county rag each Thursday.
Handicap amendments are electronically done onto the GUI website by monday/tuesday. Our comps are over friday/saturday and not week long.

Big comps (club championships) are done on the day, all others are normally done the next morning.

Results are usually on HDID either later that day or the following day at the latest. They only get delayed if there has been some form of discrepancy that is being looked into

Thanks for all the congrats from you all. It turns out I did sign my card therefore ................ .................................GET IN!!!!!! Well made up, and it shows that lessons do pay off. I've had six since jan and it has made me more aware of how to do things correctly which in turn make me more confident on the course.
Main lesson learned in this is to make sure for definate that you sign your card on the day!
