i have been looking at adding a 60 wedge to my bag, i have been using my sand wedge alot recently and i thought that this wedge would be better.

however after looking on the net and after reading the bunkers . . . . wrong bounce post, im more confused. could someone please explain these to me and tell me what is your wedge choice are and why?

Use whatever is comfortable for you, you know what your strengths and weaknesses are.

I carry a 52 and a 58 however I'm very comfortable with playing my 52 from anywhere, I also never ever hit a full wedge or below, i'm more of a controlled punchy type player from 80 yards in.

I use a 50*, SW & a 60* for those shots that you need a 60* without fear of opening up a 58* and seeing it run across the green like a scolded cat.

I have a PW which is 48* and a 52* gap wedge, a 56*/12 for the bunkers and around 50 yards in and a 60*/6 for the flop shots (very little used)

I use a 47* (PW) 53* and 56*, was think myself of getting a highly lofted wedge but i dont think i will ever use it!!

Also i think the spacing is wrong between my wedges (i reckon this is the most important thing), am about to invest in a new set of wedges!

I have a 60, and as a diabolical golfer I shouldn't. But it does work for me most of the time, especially in greenside bunkers or getting over them. It's a personal choice. If in doubt buy a cheap one. In fact I have one if you're interested. That's what I did before commiting to a more expensive model.

I have two wedge set ups. I normally carry a 46 PW, 52 and 58 but if I'm going to a course I know has deep greenside rough or deep/pot bunkers I'll discard either my 5 wood or hybrid and go with a PW, 52, 56 and 60

To be honest for most of my needs my 52 and 58 cover most angles.

My set-up is 46 degree Pw from my X-20 Tour set + 50/12, 54/14 and 58/8 Ping Tour W wedges.

I load the short game end of the bag as I believe it gives me the best chance of scoring. I have 3w, 5w and 24 deg hybrid for longer shots. I've got an iron for every shot from 175 yards in. I don't have to worry about half swings or 3/4 swings except with the 58 from closer in so I can use my normal swing and get results.
Some will say I've got too many wedges but it works for me so I'm going to keep at it.

I use 60 degree wedges very effectively. I have a low bounce Vokey that I wore out, using for bunker work, it rarely if ever let me down. Even in its worn out state its one of those magic go to clubs & could well end up back in the bag (I currently have a 60 degree low bounce MD NV Drew in there) as I don't mind mistreating the vokey, now that its so worn badly.

I tend to like playing courses that are quite firm & Linkslike. I like playing course where bunkers can be deep or with high sides. So a high lofted wedge I can rely upon & which I can open right up when needed & not add toomuch bounce in the opening up is spot on for my liking.

But its an eacah to their own situation. With me now using Ping clubs, I know a 54 & 58 degree would probably be a better solution all round, but until I wear out my current 56 & 60, that's the way its staying.

The MD wedge that I have is awesome. Chipped in from 30 feet again at the weekend. That's four times now with that club since Feb / March. Never had much luck with the standard 56 with the iron set.

Worth every penny that I didn't have to spend on it!!

I don't drive so cant get to a fitting center to do so. Also I think they are above my level of golf at the moment, have seen a 56* & 60* Srixon WG-706 at a sale price, infact the same price as one of the vokeys, so might just add them to the one I've got.

Or any wedges to find out exactly what specs would suit then buy online and get the lie angles adjusted

Lies are more important with wedges as the more loft on a club the more it will point left or right if the lie is wrong

Nar he doesnt, local Snainton golf at Sandmoor GC near me I might pop too and get it checked out, but the Seve wedges I love.
