Ok so after trying to the taylor made burners and cleveland cg16 side by side i took the cg16... direct golf doing a cracking deal on wedges (2 for 110) so gonna get 2 to complete the set

PW is 44

im thinking 48 and 54...... are these sensible or should i just make them 4 degree gaps for equal distance gaps?

got a 54 and stuck between 44-48-54 or 44-50-54 ...... am i really gonna notice the difference lol :o if only there was a 49 :p

Another idea that may be worth thinking about is going to a 4 wedge setup. Did you get a 3-PW set? If you did the 3i is 19* so very strong. If I was setting your bag up I would go like this:
Driver
3w
19* Rescue
4i-PW(44*)
then have your other wedges like this:
48*
54*
60*

I only say that set up as it is what I use as my PW is 48*

i already own a 60 degree vokey but tbh i doubt theres much i can do with that that i cant do with a 54 opened face :O

Depends on how much bounce your 54 has no it. I have got quite a lot of bounce on my 54 that makes it difficult to open up on tight lies, but it is great out of bunkers. The 60 then makes up for this and makes playing floppy shots from bare lies easier.

now I think of it I will probably go driver 3 wood hybrid so tbh ill have the room for the 60 anyway :)

If you look at the lofts on your irons your 3i is 19* so take that out the bag as it will be the same as your rescue probably. That then leaves a spare hole in your bag, so you could drop your 60* in if you wanted to........

Get the wedges in the bag. They are your scoring clubs so it should be a no brainer. You will use them alot more than the longer clubs. Get that bag wedge heavy.

I think he need to Gary. With a set that has a 44* PW you really need to get some wedges in there. No point carrying the 3i seeing as it is 19* if you want to carry a rescue, as they will probably hit the ball a very similar distance. It is the thing that I find strange with clubs now. The lofts are so strong on them they hit the ball 1 club further than mine because the lofts are 1 club longer with each club. My 9i is the same as the PW in most of these new sets.

it only goes to a 4 iron anyway which carries about 195, they are pretty strongly lofted compared to my old ones !

I would go 50 and 56, low bounce on the 50 and high bounce 56

I'd go along with SB.

The gas between my PW and GW is 5*. Then from GW to SW is 6*, but as always it's how far you hit them and how comfortable you are with your set-up.

With your suggestion, some people would say add a 58* option and run 4 wedges.

Personally, I don't see the point in 4 wedges, but that's because I'm comfortable with 3. Whatever works for you pal

Just make sure you get the right bounce and grind options.

If the set only runs from a 4i-PW then you have got some room in the bag. You said before that you carry a rescue, so I guess the long end of your gab looks something like this then.

Driver
3w
rescue
4i-PW(44*)
Add in the putter and that is only 11 clubs, plenty of room to load up on wedges and I really would seeing as your PW has a strong loft on it. If you added like I mentioned before then you would basically have the same setup as someone who has a 3 wedge setup because your PW is so strong. This is what your bag and mine would like in comparison:

9i 44*...................... ................PW 44*
PW 48*................................... GW 48*
SW 54* high bounce.................SW 54* High bounce
LW 60* low bounce...................LW 60* Low bounce

Pretty much a standard 3 wedge bag.

I was shocked to find from Wilson Staff that their standard lofts on their Di11's PW is 45, and their SW is 57.5... what a gap! I've got a 50 and 60, they seem to work for me!
