I hate to say it but summer is approaching its final days and autumn is approaching. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for waterproofs. Not bothered on brand or colour. Preferably a full body suit or i could buy seperate top and trousers. Not too expensive.

Thanks

There are quite a few decent suits available from e-bay shops and other online dealers - as long as you buy from a decent one. Proquip are good as are Sunderland. Galvin Green are great but way too expensive.

The ones at the bottom that are around what i want to spend only come in large and Xlarge. I need small. Thanks anyway.

No wait saw one-

ProQuip Hydratech Sea Blue/Black Waterproof Suit.
£109.99.

What do you all reckon?

They look OK to me. Proquip are a decent make and I have a set of the silktouch waterproofs which are lightweight, waterproof (always a bonus) and don't make me too hot either. To be honest I probably only need the jacket maybe a dozen times a season although I do wear the trousers regularly in the winter with the wetter conditions.

Have a good shop around as there are many bargains to be saught when it comes to waterproofs. Look at Stuburts range, sunice, ashworth etc all sell at great prices on tinternet!

I don't wear anything other than a rain top.....if it's bad enough for trouser covers, I'm out.

I bought a Greg Norman rain top for £30 (rrp £60-70?) in a sale somewhere and it's the best bit of golf clothing gear I've ever bought.

Never seen one before or after.

I got a nice FJ short sleeved to which is ideal in a heavy shower. It depends on the forecast as to whether I'll pack waterproof trousers but with a trolly they've been going in a lot more often. Fortunately not needed then yet and tomorrow is looking good

Christ,

This summer I have worn waterproof trousers more often than shorts!

Andy and I played in wadders last week!

All these recommendations look quite expensive.

There are some Bay Hill ones on ebay for about £50. Should I avoid these? They look ok to me, but I know nothing!

I have a ProQuip suit, purchased the jacket about 6 or 7 years ago and the matching trousers about a year later. Both items are still "as good as new" and fit a treat. Very quiet when worn, and still holding out the rain.
Would highy recommend ProQuip.

Buy the best now, Galvin Green and you'll not need to buy a new set next year.

Andy

Yeah £300+ is nothing to spend on waterproofs you wear maybe 5 times a year.

If you only wear waterproofs 5 times a year Parmo your not playing enough golf.

And whats £300 for a set of quality waterproofs?

I only play on weekends and the chances of waterproofs needed that expensive are slim.

£300 is a lot of money when you can buy goretex paclite suit for £200 from a walking store.
