Was out practicing today and walked off the course from the 5th tee box. Nothing working. Tee shots with driver, 3w, irons all slicing. Fairway shots/rough, all slicing. Thinning every chip and pushing every putt. Just couldn't find rhythm or a decent groove and didn't want to risk embedding this bad play any further. Worst thing is I have just started getting comfortable with my irons and wedges stricking 8/10 shots well.

I think it may have been due to the fact I was tired (night duty) and my left shoulder felt tight as a drum. Any tips for muscle tightness. It isn't strained or pulled just tension.

I was sorely tempted to jack it in yesterday. Similar to you couldn't hit a shot and onced the shanks started I had no confidence over the ball and in what I was doing. Tee shots were a nightmare and I never really got the ball in play properly. Hoping it was just one of those days

Dont sweat it Bob, after the front 9 at Ballyliffen on the Sunday it is there, just settle and it will happen. We all have days like that.

know how you feel, but as in another thread, played in a society match saturday got 35 points, birdied 1st, it was blowing a gale, raining, got 22 points on front 9,very unlucky not to get 40 points, drives you mad, a 7 handicapper in our group got 5 on front, 9 on back!!!!

Were you playing at Camberley yesterday wearing a pink striped jumper that looks like a licorice allsort?

I know that game! Played like a knob, hit just about every shot out of the heel, fatigue can really upset your timing, I wouldn't panic.

I'm getting used to bad starts...my last two home rounds have started with shanked drives followed by topped fairway woods...but improved thereafter!
