I managed to walk 9 holes with my mates this morning, although I used the walking stick, they were playing in the new Captains "drive in" - no bad after effects and I have arranged a 4 BBB game for next Sunday - please keep fingers crossed!

Chris

I walked 18 holes today and wish I didn't play

Glad to see that the progress is swift.

I know that feeling Chris. I broke my shoulder 3 1/2 months ago. I have been going for walks round the course with my mates just to get out for some fresh air. But oh my god it is so frustrating not being able to hit a ball. I hit my first shot on Friday since middle of September, it felt so good to hit a ball. Problem is it will stil be MArch until I can play a full round.

Must be awful Adey - and everone keeps telling you not to rush it! You know they are right but ...........

Best of luck

Great news Chris... nice to read a good news story. Hope next week goes really well. I've not played for 7 weeks, and been told no golf for at least another 3 weeks... but I have a cunning plan.

Impressive recovery. Don't push it though.

I have a mate who is going under the knife on Thursday for similar. I hope he recovers as quickly. I also hope they do the correct hip.

Good news Chris - keep us posted on further progress.

My brother is 3 week post-op from his hip replacement, and is walking at least 30 mins per day - but with a stick at the moment.

Thanks guys for your kind comments. Wish good luck to pals etc due to be operated on. I hope to try 9 holes on Wednesday and, no, I won't be doing anything that I feel at the time to be too risky and by Sunday I will be just over 5 weeks post op.

Chris

Hope the nine holes goes well on Wednesday and you are in good shape for the weekend. Recuperation is a tough balancing act between rest and physical therapy. You know you're body better than we do so here's to a continued recovery :)

That's great news Chris and good to see such progress. Remember the "S" word though - SENSIBLE

I chatted to a pal yesterday who is 4 weeks post surgery (breast cancer) and still has 3 weeks of radiotherapy to endure but we are planning her return to the course already. Plan is she'll walk 9 holes with me and just play in from 4 yards to sharpen the short game and gradually increase that as she feels able.

Hope your 9 holes on Wednesday goes without a hitch.

Great news Chris glad to hear you nearly there , you notice i said "nearly" tho, take it easy mate , better to wait another while & be right for the rest of the year than to rush back a bit early & do some harm /.. good health & good golf mate

Some people just can't stay away from the game!!

Excellent news Chris. Great to hear you're out and about walking the course.

Hope your recovery continues at this pace
