In mid June a group of friends will be cycling the length of Wales
. I decided to drive along offering support and ferrying luggage for a few days taking the opportunity for a round of golf or two
. I'm after thoughts on whether my searches have thrown up some sensible options for a couple of keen (but not particularly talented) hackers from London.
We start in Bangor but wont get to play as arriving too late. The first overnight stop en route is in Penmaenpool and between here and Bangor there is http://www.porthmadog-golf-club.co.uk/ which looks fantastic but is hosting the Ladies Welsh Team Championship - Practice Day so I doubt we could get on and also Pwllheli http://clwbgolffpwllheli.com/en/the-course.
Next stop is in Llangurig where a detour en route could take us to Borth http://www.borthgolf.co.uk/cms/ . Or we could play a short course http://dolgellaugolfclub.com/ near the Penmaenpool B&B before driving off for the next stop....
Which is in Brecon could see us play Cradoc http://www.cradoc.co.uk/pages.php/index.html which looks good.
End of the route is in Cardiff and I wasn't too sure of options as it would be a saturday am so probably comps on. http://www.aberdaregolfclub.co.uk/Home.aspx might work
Any thoughts on these? Have I missed some hidden gems?
Cheers RogB
PS Neither of us have handicap certs but play between 90 and 104 most courses so if any of the above are super difficult please let me know - ta.
