Mrs. BiM has decided I'd like to see Vienna and has generously offered to come with me. :giggle:

Any recommendations as to what to see, or what not to see whilst we're there?

The best thing I did in Vienna was a day trip to Salzburg.

You probably want to walk over the prater, see the horse school, maybe a carriage ride, and eat lots of Austrian food.

Cake shops, history museum, Kunst.......if you like art.

Every museum has a load of fellas outside in period costume and wigs selling tickets to concerts of an evening. We went to one that had an opera singer, a small orchestra etc so was a good evening with a bit of everything. Nice city.

Me and missis T went a couple of years ago. Loved it. Gorgeous City. Just do the tourist bits and walk walk walk. Have a look on TripAdvisor for restaurants.
Ps. Smoking in bars proper got on our tits though.

I too have been told we're off to Vienna. Apparently we're doing it as a road trip:( 1600 miles assuming we, sorry I, take the most direct route. I'm hoping to find something glizty/shiney to distract her.

How many carats are you thinking? 😂

Find a restaurant that is recommended for its Tafelspitz. It’s basically boiled beef in broth, but it’s much better than it sounds.

Hi

We were there last week for 3 days and really enjoyed it.

Bought a Vienna Pass that saves money on visiting the main attractions; Albertina, Danube Tower, Belvedere museums, The Hofburg Palace, Schonbrunn Palace, Prater ferris wheel, Stephansdom Cathedral, Spanish Riding School etc etc.

Plenty to see - drink/food great, inc Sachertorte cake and Apfelstrudel, plus the street food Wurstands.

I will second a day trip to Bratislava, its about 45 mins ish iirc from the airport and about 50euro in a cab last time i did it, amazing city. I find Vienna a bit sterile...

Yeah, but I am going to Vienna. I don't really want to go there, but I am, and whilst I might prefer Bratislava to Vienna, in reality, I would prefer playing golf in Watford to either of them.

🤔😃
