However as someone who has benefited from using the said V-Easy and having received some very good swing advice from Bob then I'm not happy to see some cranially challenged newbie slag it off. It comes from Pierre- Paul Riquet, the famous drunken Paris Canal builder.

Before he came along canals were designed to go wherever was convenient, but he was always so pissed he could only design them with a ruler, so they went in a straight line.

So when someone came along after him and did something clever, they were called a Sober Riquet, shortened to sobriquet.

It's a compliment.
