A friend uses his putter to line up by putting the toe down behind his marker then the top of the grip resting on the green on his line, he then line his ball up under the putter. Is this ok ?

Yes it is. The shaft is over and along the line if you know what I mean. The putter is actually touching the green ?
That's why I'm askingBut maybe not against the Rules!
As Rulie saidThat's why I'm asking
There is no hand on the club therefore the club is set down. That's a reenactment, the bottle top is the marker. The shaft is not resting on the ball, just looks that way
Yeah I can't remember if he maybe lets get sometimes. There is no hand on the club therefore the club is set down.
Sorry yeah marker is behind ball. Was a rush job in the hallway putt is toward the grip. I'm getting that if he is always holding the putter its ok ?Which way is the hole and why is the ball there (not at the marker)?
