Upward adjustment or not?

No, I'm saying/asking, why has the home club the option to reject an away score.
What makes you say the home club has the option?
I can't see anything in the CONGU regulations saying that.
In fact it says:
7.7 When the club is a player’s Home Club the Handicap Committee must
(b) ensure his scores are recorded as soon as practicable after completion of each Qualifying Competition at his Home Club or after the reporting of a Qualifying Score or Supplementary Score returned elsewhere, either by the Player or automatically via a Union’s CDH, and that all Exact Handicaps are calculated in relation to scores recorded in chronological order. Once processed by the Home Club, all scores and associated handicap adjustments must be uploaded to the Union’s CDH;
(c) keep his Exact Handicap up to date at all times;

I don't know if it still does but, using Handicapmaster. you were given the option to accept or reject an Away score when updating. Perhaps it was because the player may have reported his Away score to the Home Club and it had already been actioned before the updating.

That rings a bell

You can cut and paste as often as you like rulefan but as someone who uses the system I can assure you that there is an option for the home club to reject the score and I personally, rightly or wrongly think that option should be removed and the thing should be an automatic action thereby speeding up the process and leading to better accuracy.

As I said above, the player may have already informed his Home Club of the score and it is already on his record before CDH reports it to the club - avoids duplication.

Yes, ClubSystems (HDIDo) certainly has the option to reject an incoming Away score..... & this ^^^^ is the only reason I can imagine why you would....... player has returned his score to HOME Club & been adjusted, before the Away Comp has been processed & closed. Some Clubs may take a day or 2 to process their Comps.... all volunteers you know!! :p

Didn't see this before my last post....... but, yes, folk must be getting the message by now..... automatic would possibly lead to duplications :confused:

Appreciate yours and rosecott's response but the computer 9 times out of 10 will have the information as to any changes immediately you turn it on beating the individual and even if the entry is duplicated you can easily delete duplicate entries.

I would have thought it easier to click on reject rather than accept and have to remove a duplicate entry.

I have now found why it rang a bell, in my notes of a conversation I had with EG.
We were going through a players doubtful handicap record and noticed he had a number of duplicate away scores. It was exactly as said above. The hcap sec had posted manually either before or after the automatic update came through.
