What would your expectations be from the below position?

35 yards to the back flag, roughly half fairway and half green, ball on a wet muddy lie slightly below your feet. Small bank at the front of the green to clear.

You hit 20 balls (one after another from roughly same position).

How would you play it, club and type of shot, and how many would you expect to...
Hole
Get within 3ft
Get within 6ft
Get within 12ft
Further away

Finally how many times would you get up and down?

58* aim about 3yds left of the pin. Little 1/2 swing, control the speed with body rotation.

3ft - 3 or 4
6ft - 9 - 12
12ft - 10 - 18
Outside - 1 or 2

Then go for a shower to get all the mud off me - possibly plant some rice in that Paddy field ;)

60 degree Lob wedge, fly it all the way.

On the back foot 1/2 swing 54 dropping short and gripping

high cutting lob with 64 degree wedge, 5 foot past and spin back to 10 inches. all 20 balls

im not so sure about my lob wedge frn that lie.

maybe use my 56 to try to land it half way across the green and roll a few yards. if they stop dead, il try flying it to the pin.

my lob has 8 bounce but that lie stil doesmt appeal to me one bit!

To be fair I probably would hit shots here if I lived in that locality - If the weather is good enough to stand up and hit shots without getting blown over or soaked then I'll be out if I can - just doesn't look like golf on a links course area at any time of year

That wet - I'd walk in - not doing me any favours for summer when it's tight lies and hopefully hard fairways

Do you only play when it's summer and hard fairways ? Never play on wet days on a soft course ?

Soft course on a wet day not very often, joy of links golf - but see my subsequent reply before your response - I'd probably be there, there's always a chance I'd experience wet soft golf
