Yesterday I was really struggling with two foot putts. On several occasions I played a lovely pitch or chip to two feet of the hole, but then went on to two putt. Every time the ball would just slide left by half an inch. Longer putts were going in!

I'm wondering if on these short putts if my shoulders were pulling the club slightly.

I've just been trying right hand above left and it seems to hold my shoulders a bit squarer. For these short putts.

Anyone got any 'tit-bits' that might help?

I read a tip, may have been on here, thats helped me a lot....

Follow through much further than ur backswing, maybe twice as long, and keep the putter face pointing at the hole. Only do this on two feet or so and has helped me.

Keep your elbows tucked in to your body

£10 please

I dunno. I flog your invention and yet you still want more!!!!

Joking aside. I've kept one of the V-easy's for myself. Now to go and practice two foot putts with it!!

Thanks for the other replies though. All things to try. I basically lost the match with Midnight because of this 'problem'.

As for the suggestion not to chip / pitch it so close. I did consider it on the course. But with the number of chip in's I get, there's no way I wasn't going to attack the pin. But it was a serious consideration.

I sometimes try and hear it drop and not to peek. It might just be a bad putting day. Maybe go out and practice them for a while as confidence breeds confidence. Make a few on the practice green and you can stand over one on the course knowing you can make it.
