I'm heading out to Belek on Tuesday night for a few nights, staying at the Crystal Tat. We're playing at the Tat Course (Not sure which combo of nines), the Sueno Pines and the Kaya Eagles.

Has anyone stayed in this hotel/played the courses? Any advice on the courses, what they're like etc? Anyone been out recently and know what the condition is like at the courses?

Thanks!

Ive just come back, it was blinking hot touching 38/9 during the middle of the day. Sueno and Kaya are in fantastic condition really world class facilities but I have a feeling your going to be playing during overseeding week.

Jeez, that's hot! That's a shame that it could be overseeding week, hopefully they are still in decent nick though! How are the courses, are they long? Much water?

Depends on the Tee's you play from in all honesty, I think even though it may be overseeding week they will still be in amazing condition. Kaya has a lot of water around it, Sueno has some but nothing compared to Kaya. Ijust wished I had played Carya under the floodlights it looked amazing.

Have fun!

Last year we played Carya under floodlights and it wasn't that impressive, however this year the lights have been upgraded to LEDs and the whole course is floodlit. It is fantastic. In fact the difference, dare I say it, was like night and day! A must if you can do it.

The family and I have holidayed in Belek (staying at The Voyage) for 4 out of last 5 years.
First piece if advice is to tee of as early as poss.
In terms of courses, Carya and Sultan are big belters, however I really enjoyed The National this year, and all The Gloria's are recommended.
I played one loop of Faldo, and it can be tough in v.dry conditions as the camber fairways can be hard to hold.
At Sueno, I preffered The Pines to the Dunes
The Monty is a good track. Nice and wide and perfect for holiday golf.
No matter where you play, you'll have a great time

Is there any particular reason to tee off as early as possible? The reason I ask is because we have already booked for next year but are going in the end of September as opposed to March when we usually go. Is it because of the heat, or is it particularly slow if you tee off late morning?

I wish we could have played some of the bigger name courses, but the budget just wouldn't stretch... We'll be playing midday, just hoping getting buggies isn't an issue, which would help with the heat. Not really in any rush, so slow play doesn't bother us too much!

How easy is it to see the ball when playing under the floodlights?

It is very easy as the ball is never above the beams of the light and the sky is black, also the lights face towards the green so you are not dazzled, and the back of the ball is lit. Even when the ball is lying in the rough it is well lit so no problems. Shadows are minimal too as there is nearly always light from more than one source.

I played a nine hole par 3 under floodlights whilst in Florida a few years back and that was strange as the lights were only on the tees and greens, so you hit your shot, the ball disappeared into the darkness and hopefully reappeared as it came down on the green.

A bit of both really. I like playing early golf as it feels as if you have the place to yourself. It's easier in terms of temps and your back at the pool for midday...beer in hand.
