The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
Had my first comp of the year - a Stableford thank God!!
The Greenkeepers carried out planned maintainence last week and had heavily sanded the greens and added plenty of water. Unfortunately, with the tropical weather, it's not been enough and the Greens have started to dry out. The ridges caued by the maintainence are actually getting bigger and not smoothing out at all.
As a result, today was a complete lottery. No idea what other scores came in but I struggled to 29 and Fragger to 27. The state of the greens cost me at least 6-7 shots, maybe more.
I know its the same for everyone in the comp but when you have a 6 foot putt that has no break and for 5ft 8 inches is going in, it then hits a ridge and shifts a foot to the right then something's not right. It was like putting on a corrugated iron roof!!!
Looks like I'm not able to play for another week or 2 so I hope they've sorted the greens by then.....
