TRS Slider

I've given in after a few times of hearing the name of this thing and I finally googled to see what it is... It's a big strap with a little strap attached? And it's about a hundred quid? Christ
Try £65.

I'm pretty sure this is the same thing for £30.
Similar...but not the same. The difference is that the TRS product allows some freedom of movement of the trail arm and doesnt lock it in place. You cannot complete a proper follow through if your upper right arm is locked in place...no amount of body turn will help.

My old pro is in Oz with his own academy and recently posted a vid using the TRS, I messaged him to see if he’d tried the swing sync and his response was “ simply looks another cheap knock off that doesn’t have the slider function “

Back and forth convo gives the impression that the sliding part of thE TRS is key over other versions.

Sorry, yes, I saw 100 dollars i think

So the extra 20 quid gets you a little plastic loop?

You probably saw the standard website which automatically offers you 2 for £105 i think it is.

Well....technically....yes.

The fact that the "plastic loop" allows the device to operate in a totally different fashion to other similar devices, might be worth than £20 to some folk.

I'd never pay 60 quid for a giant elastic band, and I won't be spending 30 quid on the lesser one either now that I now it doesn't operate the same way - so cheers, that has saved me some money. 😂

Its not elastic....its effectively car seatbelt material.

However....you raise an interesting point that many folk will have wildly differing views on....when does the value of a product become more than just the cost of the materials used to make it? ...and how much extra should that value be?...and at what stage does that product show its true value.

If you used (someone loaned you one) the TRS for 6 months and at the end of the period you'd knocked 2 or 3 shots off your handicap, would you perceive its value differently?...would you then go out and buy one?

If I come back in 6 months time and say that I've lost 2 or 3 shots off my handicap, my ball striking has improved immensely and I'm now hitting a soft draw when previously I'd hit a baby fade....would you potentially think differently?

Used it every day last week in the back garden and had 2 range sessions with it

The -4 SG in approach compared to 5 handicap last week went to 0.5 SG yesterday

Shot an 82 with two trebles due to poor tee shots directly into the 20-30mph gusty winds came out of the shot too quick trying to guide it 😂 I’ll never learn

It’s expensive but it’s had a positive impact made me realise i don’t half make the swing harder than it should be

Just ordered one of these to use every day when doing drills and to use at the start of every practice session.

I’ve always used the towel drill but recently just doesn’t feel comfortable keeping the towel pinned under my left arm and I’ve always had a tendency to get the right arm disconnected at the top. So hopefully this sorts that rubbish move out 😂

That’s a great point and essentially why I’ve finally got around to buying one. People will spend hundreds on a new driver thinking it’ll fix their slice and constantly tinkering with their swings. But £65 for a training aid “nope that’s expensive”. If it helps to reduce or even maintain a handicap for a year then it’s earned it’s money and then some.

Where did you order from, I haven’t managed to find any in stock?

As per the post by AmandaJR.

Also found a discount code: MILO10

I’ve no idea who Milo is but the code works and essentially got the entire price of the shipping off.

This is exactly where I ordered it from, direct from TRS website.

Ooh thanks for the code. I'll pass onto my hubby. I don't play anymore but he will 100% benefit from this!

I ordered mine through TRS using the discount code from Rick Shiels, which gives you 10 discount (it seesm they all do), it came from what looks like China, with a week to arrive.

As for sizing, I went with the largest one (Im about 44 chest) but ....it's not just the chest to consider. I wouldnt say my arms are Arnie like in any shape or form, but I'm glad I went for the largest one as otherwise it would have been very interesting each time getting the arm piece around the bicep just above the elbow.

What's the sizing like, I'm 36 so bang in-between S & M
I'm a 43" chest and bought a Large (42-50")....there is a lot of scope for adjustment...I can adjust it a lot shorter than its quoted 42" minimum (I reckon I could get it to fit someone with a 30" chest but there would be a lot of loose strap flapping around)....and a little bit longer than the 50" maximum..

I reckon I could have got away with a medium as I've currently got the strap adjusted so that its about 40" in length.

Bear in mind that it needs to be a snug fit so that it doesn't move around and that it really fits just around the lower ribcage area rather than the upper chest.

I suspect that either small or medium could work for you given the scope for adjustment but I'd probably err on the side of medium, as its easier to make it shorter than it would be to make the small size longer.

What Bunkermagnet says about the arm loop is also relevant....but I dont know if the arm loop also varies by size.

On a side note. Made in china, shipped from china, I bet RR makes more from this than he did as a pro golfer. Fair play!
My thoughts and I was also mightily annoyed by this. On reciept of order the reply was it is being picked and shipped to you. Then the tracking number is outside the UK and heard nothing for 5 days.
On a better note, I have been swinging in the garden with it, and something seems to have worked as Saturday saw the best game and score I have done for 2 years now.
