After winning last weeks medal and i had done all the maths to work out my nice new cut. Last night i received an email through and i got 3 lots of bad news.

My official was 15.2 not 15.1. i missed january's buffer zone by 1 shot getting 0.1 back.

The camp scratch scroe is 67, one less than par.

so my 15.1-1.5 to give me 13.6 is now 15.2-1.2 = 14.00

gutted as 13.6 only left me one 0.3 cut away from a 13hc, instead ive now got to be 3 under h/c to get there.

I had similar a few weeks ago. Shot 6 over par, which should have got me to 9.3, but instead, due to SS I only got cut 0.4 to 9, bugger. Even got an email from HDID saying new h/cap 9.3, and then another one 3 hours later saying new h/cap 9.5.

That said, there is plenty left in the season to go either way.

im about as relaxed as it comes now craw. i always got uptight after a good round expecting that to be the new norm, and this always blew up in my face. All of my best games are couldnt care games so to speak.

Sunday i was convinced after 6th that i had no shot at getting anywhere close, turned my head off and just had a laugh with the people i was playing with, next thing i know ive won. I think there is alot to be said for being chilled and turned off to the score card, let see if the same approach works this weekend. The only different will be a few hours saturday morning on our practice green with my v easy. Dropped atleast 5 shots through silly miss putts last weekend and i dont want to be making that mistake again.

The season hasn't started yet OS don't panic, you will get cut this year for sure!

I asked the other day which course you play. I passed Addington Palace on Saturday on my way to see the Mighty Eagles in a glorious victory, and just wondered where Addington Court was?

Chris

which side was addington palace on when you passed it, Addington court is less than a mile from there.

Both sides, I went up Gravel hill going and down it on the way back. Having said that my son was driving and with the euphoria of a rare win, my head was somewhat swimming.

homer i agree a cut is a cut, just gutted i worked out the numbers wrong. At least i know for future comps.

Chris, as you come down the hill you get to the big round about, turn right and about 200 yards up there at the lights you bare left, and its about 5 mins up the road on both sides. Falcon Wood 18, Range and Par 3 course on the left, CHampionship course and 9 hole course on the right

Got it OS - might be worth an early start there one day then off to the match!

Chris

I dont know how long a round is at yours but say 9.00am tee, finish 1pm, quick bite, get to ground 2.30 - sorted!

May not be for a few weeks but if it looks on do you want a shout? (I know you probably not up for the footie)

Chris

definately up for the golf game, id try and get off a bit earlier as on saturdays the societies normally get going about 9am and i wouldnt want to be stuck behind one. a 4hour round can end up 5 & half in the blink of an eye.

get away by half 8 and your clear by a country mile. On sunday i played in a 3 ball, and we got held a bit by a 2 ball (i know i couldnt belive it) and i think we got round in 3.5hours, so if we started around 8.30 we'd be well clear by 12.30 at the latest

I've read it 3 times and I still don't get it.

How do you need 3 shots cut to get to 13?

14.0 - (2 x 0.3) = 13.4

:D

Well done on the scoring and the cut btw :)

I will keep in touch on that one OS.

I usually go with my son who doesnt have a h/c but I gave him 9 shots at mine in the week, and he duffed me 4 and 3. I was standing on the 8th tee 3 over (gross) and 2 down the match! It was his 28th birthday and the one big prezzie he got from me was a swift and big h/c cut!!

Chris

Could of been worse, how about shooting your best score of the year so far and it been in the only round of the year which hasnt been a comp!! D'OH

The one consolation, Parmo, is that you will definitely do it again this year at some stage and, probably, sooner than later

14.0 - (2 x 0.3) = 13.4

Our comp scratch score is 1 less than par, effectively meaning i need to shot 3 under h/c to get the 2 x 0.3 cut ;)

Parmo... i feel your pain. ive been there. The week before our january medal i had a cracking round araound my course, was 3 or 4 under my h/c, then come the weekend of the medal, i was around 3 over and another 0.1 back.
