Trilby Tour you're having a laugh - no, really i've just entered

I quite enjoyed watching those. The runner up was a lad from a local club but don't know him.

Thanks for all the good wishes from everyone. Had a bit of an easier ride than I expected.

You have, normally it's lambs to the slaughter on this subject, but good luck to you. You never know until you've tried it as they say.

I played in 2014 and while I enjoyed the day it was let down by the course; I played at Tudor Park in Kent. Previous year it was at Kings Hill which is a much better and challenging course.

The set up on the day is good and there are definitely nerves on the first tee, but having a mate on the bag lead to it being a big laugh and I was so relaxed after the first I finished in the top 10 and made the final at St Pierre. Was the only time that year that I played under my handicap.

Its something I'm happy I've done, but personally I wouldn't do it again. If they upped the standard of the courses then I might be tempted to go back.

Glad you enjoyed the day overall and well done on getting through to the final.

It's like having an itch to me and I must scratch it.

Well done on getting to the final. It must be hard for the TT to find accommodating courses prepared to have their members inconvenienced by the work before, during and after the event.

I think if I hadn't got through, I might have tried it again and I can understand how people can get addicted to it, but I just think overall the price is a little too high to do too often.
Good luck on your day, look forward to seeing you on the box at the end of the year.

Not sure where you're based but would be happy to join you for one of your practice rounds, if you wanted company!

About 10 minutes away and curious to play there with the mixed feedback I've had.

Based in North Wales and will probably try to get a round in there this spring/summer so will drop you a PM.

As long as it's not in Rogue's Gallery.

Sorry - but to me the players just look faintly preposterous - all playing in trilbies and being dead serious about their often not terribly good amateur golf. Sorry.

But each to his own.

Good on you, mate. I hope you enjoy it. Always fancied it myself and if I had the cash (and the game!) for it then I'd give it a go.

Good luck

Golfers all wearing similar headgear and being serious about there golf but maybe not being that good at it!! Mmmm.

Good luck on the TT, I hope you have a great experience

Some parts of TT make me cringe, and reading some peoples experiences of playing TT do make me wonder

But at the end of the day I love watching it, it goes a long way to removing the stuffy image golf has, and the tongue-in-cheek commentary is great
