Trilby Tour you're having a laugh - no, really i've just entered

Good luck and enjoy...I think im in the minority here, but I enjoy watching it on TV. Its nice to watch some golf on telly where you actually feel like youre a better player than what youre watching, rather than watch the pro's hammer one 350 yards down the middle of the fairway! :D

Not played it yet but as a Marriott hotel course I would expect it to be pretty much the same as the others.

As a one off the money is not a problem and might even take HID for an overnight stay and she can have a spa day. Not a chance in hell of winning it but also hope to stay out of Rogues Gallery.

Hopefully it's more Forest of Arden as opposed to Sprowston

Enjoy it and will be interesting to hear your views after

Risky post Three, following Mike's warning.

Despite Worsley Park only being across the road from my place, I have only ever played 12 holes there.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks. I've played Swinton Park a few times and that is only just down the road so I expect it will be similar.

Worsley Park is ok for a one off game, the course has matured nicely since opening and is a reasonable test.

Quite a bit of earth has been shifted to give it some definition and Theres a couple of blind tee shots.

I don't know if you get one thrown in but if not Id recommend A practice round beforehand.

I won't enter it again. Personal choice based on perceived value for money but it would seem to have found a niche. Some aspect, certainly in the beginning were top drawer. My own thoughts aside I hope the OP enjoys the experience and it would be interesting to get an honest report once he plays (if we're all still here in 2017 of course!)

Decent enough track. One of those typical hotel courses with big bunkers and greens. Good variety of holes and a bit of water too. I've played there quite a few times now on various trips and the GM Centenary event a few years ago. I know nothing about Trilby Tour other than I've seen it on TV and always thought I may have a crack one day. Overpriced yes.....but so is much in golf!

Thanks, will try to. I thought the Two's finals were pretty poor from what they showed on TV but it's easy when you're sitting on the couch watching.

cant say i would ever enter it ,the cost alone puts me off. but i do watch it and have a good grin at some of the swings on show [well most of them actually] even my mrs says how do they hit the ball swinging like that ,and she dosent play or really know anything about the game.
enjoy it mate ,i will be waiting to read of your exploits.

I realise that this is probably a popcorn moment and goes against the grain for most on here but I've had that nagging urge to give it a go before I get too old. Many seem to have suffered bad experiences in the past going by previous threads ranging from DQ's for being late on the tee, bandits, rubbish courses, cost etc but I feel the need to try it out.

The last urge I had like this was to go fence surfing on Maho Beach and that didn't live up to expectations so I am prepared to be let down. It may be a long wait though as I am only on the waiting list for 2016 (highly unlikely to get a game) but guaranteed a place for 2017.

To be honest, I can't wait to give it a go.

Has anyone else entered for this year?

I hope you have a bandit handicap if you want to have any chance of winning?

Good luck pal, I'd be fascinated to try it but the bucks are too big for me.

Here's the 2013 qualifier from Worsley Park, featuring a true Trilby Tour legend, shows you what you have to beat. ;)

I quite enjoyed watching those. The runner up was a lad from a local club but don't know him.

Thanks for all the good wishes from everyone. Had a bit of an easier ride than I expected.
