Trilby Tour Ebay shocker

I cant believe someone is selling their Frilford place online , currently going for £358!!

What is the world coming to? :o

Surely if the people running it were made aware neither the bloke trying to sell it or the bloke who bought it would be allowed to compete?

It's like when someone sold their 2 free rounds vouchers on here not that long ago that were issued through a leading Scottish golf magazine subscription offer ;)

Sold it.... who was that ?

Would have to kill you if I told you ;)
I see they issued an email last week warning any vouchers found to be on eBay would be marked void on the system.

I selt mine last year, they were mine to sell as I had bought them as part of the package.Went for substantially lower than what the market was getting for them mind.

I don't agree with what Bunkered have done this year, they come as part of the package when buying the magazine.....GM don't stop you flogging your Srixon eggs do they??

But this year we have the 2 trips penciled in so I won't need to sell them this year.

Maybe in touch, could do with using mine but need a companion/s.

and im sure the person that bought was happy:whoo:, and said person has subscribed 3 times this year for said magazine all in his name. wonder how that will pan out

The Trilby Tour Team have announced today that it had been brough to their attention about this 'eBay' auction, stating:

"Any members who wish to attempt to sell/purchase a position in the Trilby Tour through unofficial sources will find that their entry will not be valid and will serve a life ban."

What baffles me is that all positions are registered to a name, on the day you have to provide ID and a Valid Handicap Certificate. You can hardly rock up and say, I'm taking x's place, I bought his position on eBay.

Ridiculous!

Yep just read that too, it was absolutely the right thing to do. If they'd allowed this to happen it would have caused untold damage to the reputation of the tournament.

Totally. It was the only option that The Trilby Tour Team had really.

If they allowed it to happen, it would of been considered to a 'disrespectful' act to all the people who are on the Waiting List & Waiting List Plus.

What baffles me also is what were the people bidding on it thinking?! It's obvious that a players position on the TT is not transferable, either you take it or you cancel it.

The TT Team have done the best thing they could do for this, to show that they will not allow for this to happen.

The more this goes on the less I want to get involved with the TT. I'm waiting to see what happens on the 14th when the waiting list is opened up and golfers offered places if available. Personally i'm not holding my breath. It does seem to be poorly organised and you'd think after threeor four years this would be running perfectly by now.

Its not poorly organised Homer, you cant legislate for someone trying to sell their place. As soon as the TT found out about it they put a stop to it. The only thing I take issue with the TT is that they didnt have a venue in Scotland and Ireland this year when they knew where the applicants live. On the day the organisation is second to none.
