The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
If you're playing with bog standard, ordinary, non-name clubs because you can't afford Ping/Callaway/TM etc then you possibly can't afford one. As soon as you pay in excess of £100 for a club then you can. IF YOU CHOOSE TOO.
Accuracy of the GPS isn't quite as important as you may think. If your gps says its 150 yards to the front and you hit a 7 iron and it finishes at the front of the green then the fact that it may be 140 or 155 yards doesn't matter. Next time you get 150 yards to the middle you'll reach for your 7 iron.
Any means of aquiring the yardage doesn't hit the shot for you. Any means of aquiring the yardage gives you just that - the yardage. You can then be sure that you're using the right club. Confidence in knowing your yardage can't be bad.
All a gps does is provide it quicker.
