We have a place (golf one) just round the corner to me. It uses Track man simulators.
Are the places worth using , or would a bucket of ball at the local range (Toptracer) give more meaningful data .
It’s a little more pricey, a bit closer to, armed at this time of year and I can get a coffee as well…

Indoor Trackman numbers are pretty accurate in my experience - but a lot more expensive that way. Depends how accurate you need it to be. If you're doing a gapping session then it's probably worth doing it indoors. Outdoor ones vary quite a lot.

At least on an indoor system you can use the balls you would usually use out on the course...will give far more useful information than range balls, which will have all manner of compromises in terms of ball speed, spin, launch etc.

I've just had two saturday mornings in a Trackman indoor sim. It was torrential outside, and we were with our regular foursome - and had a total blast. I love having the stats in the app to browse after the event, and we play famous courses and have a laugh. It's more expensive than a regular range, but a lot cheaper than an actual round. And you get to hit good balls instead of range rocks. So, I think it's worth it, especially if you split the cost.

Definitely worthwhile for the use decent balls reason. Also when the weathers wild good to still get a hit indoors.

Went along today , special deal weekday mornings (excluding Fridays) 10 quid for an hour.

Far greater analysis than the local top tracer range, warmer, and overall really good fun.
Came away feeling a lot better about my golf too, largely because the titliest balls went about 15 % “further” so my drives were looking a lot less crap..

Could Weil become a weekly thing in addition to the evening or two at the range
