I think the guy is awesome, his play is fantastic, his ball skills, movement off the ball and sniper like quick thinking is second to none in my opinion... although he's potentially been the unluckiest person on the pitch for the past 4 months (or more)....

Would you want him?

Yep, he is starting to come good. Stupidly unlucky at the moment but is showing a lot more flashes of brilliance in the last few weeks. He just needs to pull the trigger as he keeps being to generous and passing to someone else to score(he is Chelsea top assist player this year)

I think he's a great player. Although, he may just not be a good fit for Chelsea!

Liverpool seemed to suit him, I don't get to see much EPL football, so can't compare how his 'pool team played compared to Chelsea of 2011/12.

I do think he's class though!!

NO, highly over rated now. His first year at liverpool he was awesome but he has never been able to hit that form again. When he is playing well then yes no doubt he is a top player but it doesnt happen very often.

Def not worth the price tag imo

Two years ago yes, but not now. Struggled with injuries, and now he seems to have lost confidence as well as a bit of pace. His body language on the pitch doesn't look great either, and when Chelsea score he just looks disappointed it is not him scoring. Mind you now Reading have a Russian billionaire pumping money into the club, we may be making a sneaky bid for him.

Id have him in my team in a heartbeat, he just seems to lack confidence in front of goal at the minute, but that will come back, he has been quality since he came on the scene at athletico.

I am a Man U fan,and would love to have him in our team, although he is going through a lean spell at the moment the goals will come,Strikers and Goalkeepers are in the spotlight all the time and people like to highlight this fact....Torres Quality

Interesting stat (well to me) in his last 52 internationals for Spain going back to 2007 he has scored 13 goals. Playing for the best International side in the world a goal every 4 games. In the same period David Villa has played 56 Internationals and scored 38 goals. Is Torres over rated, does he flatter to deceive ?

I am pretty sure his best season for Liverpool was when Crouch was alongside him?

Maybe he needs a partnership of a similar ilk rather than being up top on his own

Were you watching a DVd from 3-4 years ago.

Yes he is/ was quality. His best season was when Gerrard just played off him. From experience though, when he's not interested (only the last 6-8 months at Anfield) though he is half the player.

At the moment he needs to stay on for 90 mins, as that is when defenders make more mistakes, and he will come into his own. I'd have him back for 20 mil.

I think he is quality and would have him in my side in no time, and if he was english he would be in that side for the euros. I think what you have to remember is hes played in a couple of teams where he was the big fish in a little pond at Athletico and Liverpool, neither team was really battling for the title and he would look good in a slightly better than average team. Now he has moved to Chelsea and the same has happened as it does with Spain he is a little fish and everyone expects him to perform the same as he has done in previous teams. He is a good team player has plenty of assists, lacks confidence, bit unlucky but he will come out of it.

I think he needs someone to play off and he doesn't seem to get that at Chelsea. I think a fully fit and motivated Torres would be back to the form of a few seasons ago with a target man with him. I think someone like Zamora at Fulham showed yesterday how you can be a provider as well as a scorer and Torres has the predatory instinct to react to those sort of knock downs and passes. Come on Mr Fayed - splash the cash

I think he's past his best, and personally wouldn't want him. There is no denying he still has some quality but to me I think his head has gone. As a striker one of the most important things is confidence and his looks shot to pieces. He also seems to have lost that little bit of pace which used to open up an extra yard or so of space. When he was at Liverpool he looked so sharp and instinctive, as well as appearing to be enjoying his football. Not so anymore. AvB needs to give him a serious run in the starting XI if he wants him to come good but at the moment it looks like the worst £50 million ever spent.

I'm probably the opposite to that, he seems forever to be finding space and instincively pulling the trigger... he just seems to be trying so flippin' hard to score the perfect goals. He's had about a billion shots against the woodwork, tons that literally took off a coat of paint as they went past, deflections galore and heroic saves... it does seem like everything is against him and i wish he'd create his own luck and just start hitting them frikkin' hard! It's weird watching Chelski as all their front men (and most of the midfield) appear so selfish.. as soon as someone gets the ball they are looking to shoot.. it's getting very predictable, they are not 'playing' the ball as much any more and it's a greedy 'shoot on sight' policy that seems to be the order of the day. Torres just draws the defenders and leaves them with the opportunity.. when he stops running their chances dry up.

I agree that he's been unlucky but he doesn't seem confident enough to take a defender on for pace any more. He's still got the trickery and quick feet in close quarters but I haven't seen him skin anyone for a while (like he used to do against Vidic for instance). Chelsea seem to be really struggling up top though which isn't gonna do Torres any favours. He seems the most unselfish of the lot at the moment.

He is a top quality player there is no denying that (he wouldn't be playing professional football otherwise), in terms of at the moment he is in a bad spell but happens to have gone on for way longer than everyone predicted. Some players just seem to suit certain teams look at Darren Bent and Sunderland, scored bags of goals, something he didnt seem to do for Spurs.
Another top quality player may i add is Andy Carroll..Almost the whole country seems to think otherwise, purely because of the media and the high transfer fee but he is a crazily good hold up player and would go as far as saying i bet defenders would admit to being in for a tough day playing against him..Just needs a good run to get a few goals under his belt.
