I never thought I would say this, but today was absolutely 'scorchio' in Southern England and really too hot to play golf. I came off the course after 18 holes bathed in perspiration and feeling absolutely knackered, and I wasn't the only one. Also, for the first time ever, I was using my umbrella as a sunshade. Usually we complain about the cold in the UK! 😅

Got a sneaky round booked for friday afternoon. Looks like the storms will have cleared & we'll be back to top temps. Should be a great way to start the bank holiday!

18 Holes at Sherfield Oaks in a monthly team event. Teed off at 11.00 and by God it was the hottest I've ever been on a course. Scorchio Plus!!!!!

Played the best golf I've played all season though much to my amazement as I was sweating buckets and feeling mega-uncomfortable.

Got back in the car after the nosh and the standing temp was showing 42.5 degrees which dropped to 30.5 ambient once we got rolling.

As Delc said "It was too hot for golf'.

This isn't hot - it's mildly warm

And there is no such as too warm for golf in this country :D

Played at St Ives yesterday (Cambs) so not a bit of shade and a 5.5 hour round - felt as frazzled as a Frazzle! Played again today but we stopped after 12 holes as that was more than enough. I'm not a fan of hot weather!

It was slightly warm, Kent was apparently 34 degrees today. I strolled more slowly than normal, kept hydrated and wore a cap and enjoyed the monthly medal

Our wonderful changeable weather, eh?

We we seem to struggle to get too many days with *perfect conditions :mmm:

For me *perfect is around 72-75 degrees Fahrenheit with no wind, dry and with hazy sunshine. I think I once remember playing on just such a day.

book yourself a game friday afternoon ;)

Played a senior open in Kent in July it was 33 degrees, no problem as long as you drink plenty of water, but the paramedics were called for one guy who was diabetic and was not drinking enough. Spoke to him afterwards and thankfully he was ok.

It's the UK, I remember those hot sunny days 25, maybe 30 on a real scorcher. I played Sunday Morning and the car was saying 75 (about 25*C) when I got there at 7:30. By the time I finished at 12:30 the thermometer at the clubhouse was saying 104* (about 40*C). It was that hot I couldn't pick up my irons by the heads because they were burning my fingers.
