BIRDIES....
ok so there only birdies, but i dont get many, and today i had two. GROSS by the way, i dont have a safety NET yet.
First, was on the 1st. 350 yard par 4 slight dog leg right with a whopping big tree in the middle of the fairway about 150 yards from the tee. I was given the honour and up i stepped. Tee'd the ball up, took my stance, had a waggle and bang....... pulled it into the rough behind a little gathering of over grown twiggs( baby tree's) Shine a light. after my bro in law joined me in the same way and my other playing partner hit the middle (behind the tree) up the fairway i went.
Thick rough, about 130 to the hole, tree's to clear i opted for my fat lady (number 8 to the bingo virgins). One nice practice swing and then i got amoungst it, clean as they come, up it went, over the tree'srainbow like flight and then down, 10 yards short of the green and for the first time in 6 months, the ball bounced and carried to the heart of the green, About 20 ft from the pin.
With a walk of pride singing G.I.R in my head, it then dawned on me i had a chance at birdie, all be it a slight chance. Then after a quick clean of ball, quick study of line, i took a couple of practice strokes to get a feel for distance and then brushed the ball towards the hole, in slow motion (praying it didnt bobble) i watched it disapear! Bang 1 under for the day!
Second birdie was on the par 4, 350 8th, SI 1.
Short duffed tee shot to about the 180 mark and then a 24 degree titleist 585h 24* to within 5 yards of the green.
Pin sitting a good 20ft away, slight uphill with a break to the right. Out comes the seven and in true pin seeker style straight from tiger woods 08, it rolled up nicely, hit the pin and dropped like a sack of shi.......
Well there ya go. Sorry to bore you all but i was over the moon. Hopefully i have a lot more to come.
