To anybody thinking of a SkyCaddie SG2.5

The more I think about this offer, the more I want to just get it. But I think I will be better waiting. Plus I want to know how Vig gets on with his Sonocaddy.
 
Picked mine up OK this morning, complete with leather case and in-car battery charger.
Young lad who served me was fine, but the manager seemed a little cheesed off that AG were doing this deal.
The young lad also told me that with their buy two get one free deal (which basically covers everything in the shop) some bright spark had spent thousands and thousand of pounds clearing them out of their stock of powakaddies and was selling them on to pro shops because he was getting them cheaper from AG than he could buy them direct!
Well chuffed with my deal though

Been looking at getting a Skycaddie for a while, planning to do it after xmas, but this was a cracking deal! So thanks for pointing it out!! AG guys couldnt believe the price either!
Loaded up and ready to go next weekend...

I've tried the search and looking by County - I think its in Staffs but either way it doesn't seem to be there.

Ask them and they'll do it - thats what it says on the website
 
Slightly Off initial topic, But I notice halfords are doing a good deal on the Snooper GPS with golf GPS at the moment for £139-99

So for anyone wanting a GPS for the car & with speed camera warning, its not a bad deal.

The big drawback is that if you want to take advantage of unlimited downloads there is either a one off payment of £99, which is like 3 years subs for Skycaddie, but it never needs paying again, or you can pay £4-95 a month, though the big plus here is that its free for the first 6 months & there is also no minimum subscription, which is a plus

Another big plus is the snooper device can hold up to 100 courses in the memory. Damn site better than 5 or 10 courses.

TBH I'm torn between both products at the moment, though would like to see the Snooper Golf GPS in opertation side by side with the Skycaddie, to see which in use is the better unit. I suspect the Skycaddie, but the snooper is still tempting, especially as I don't need to travel the best part of 25 miles to my nearest American Golf store that doesn't involve negotiating Birmingham.
 
My mate has that snooper gps device its very good,nice and compact which is a plus prob the size of a nokia n95 but slimmer,only downside i can see is its not rugged but if kept in your pocket works very well,
 
trying to get the SG2.5 at the online price with store pick-up but at the moment the store is saying I'd have to pay the store price. (no point in doing that, I'd rather order and wait!)

give him his due, he is ringing head-office to see what thay say. apparently it's to do with till codings?
 
AG called back within 10 minutes. Headoffice say that the stores have to honour the online 'pickup at store' deals. I get mine this evening on the way home.
(murph - yes a bit hypocritical but I've seen the light)

the reason given for the pricing problems is that the online deals don't recognise 2-for-1 so they do a 33% reduction instead.
 
I think the thing that swung me was when one poster said that it would give the distance from any point on the course; the places I can go make that essential!
 
I picked mine up a couple of hours ago. Everything was fine until I asked for the charger and case - the guy "had to ask" the manager if they were included. I watched him go and ask the manager and I swear he raised his eyes to heaven as if to say "Oh no, not another". They did give them to me though ;)

I just looked on the AG site and the prices is noe £165.48.......

Some made a mistake at AG?
