To anybody thinking of a SkyCaddie SG2.5

I think the problem stems from the fact that the online offers are totally different to the shop offers. I spoke to somebody from AG head office this morning checking up on the status of an order, and he said that any manager caught not honouring a "reserve and collect" order via the internet will be in big trouble.
All this smacks of desperation to me.
:p :p :p

I reckon someone at AG made a massive pricing cock-up on this.

Maybe they converted from USD to pounds using the wrong rate or something.

Well done to anyone who got one at the silly price.

Indeed... well done to those lucky individuals.

Shash'n, nash'n....grrr...lol

Either way I'm going to keep my eyes open just incase they reduce the price again, or if anyone else does. Though I know where I can get a reasonable if not as good as that price if need be.

picked mine up on the way home yesterday evening. everything ready, though they did ask what price I'd been quoted even though it was on the form on their computer - can't blame them for trying.

got home, open the box - no GPS! Phone call, back in the car, big apologies and open the show case to get it out (I got the last they had). Two sleeves of Srixons as an apology.

a few problems getting it up and running; software downloaded ok but it wouldn't recognise the gps until I'd switched ports and set the 'allow access' on the firewall. thereafter straightforward.

Only three courses on at the moment, Wybo - my local, Redbourn - playing at xmas, Goswick - a must, Ascot goes on today. The first test is Friday; interestingly it says 'new course', so I need to check to see which changes they have caught up with.

I think the New Course bit in the course list is for you to map one yourself.

I'm still waiting for AG Milton Keynes to call me in to collect the case and charger that were free with mine but the didn't have. Seems like another phone call to make.

If I'm fit, mine gets its first workout Thursday - can't wait

no, poor posting on my part; it says 'Wyboston Lakes new course'.

It changed last year when some hedgerows, a row of pines and an OB went, and a set of tees were repositioned.
Its also changing this year with more hedgerows out and a new pond - as if we need more water hazards! (actually it's to make the best of a perpetual problem of boggy ground)

Was doing the Xmas shopping today, almost jacked it in for a visit to AG. I just kept telling my self that it was no good going in store to buy it.

On the 2.5 can you select a point you want to lay up to? For instance, Yesterday I was playing on temps and some where a good 100 yards shorter than where an SC would have the green marked out. Could I selct a point on the screen that I wanted to lay up to and say mark the spot with an x (or whatever symbole it may have) or are they basically useless when the courses are on temps?

Yes you can select a point on the screen to lay up to Tony, although this will probably be pretty inaccurate unless the temporary green is right next to a bunker you can make out on the screen, or another marked on obstacle.

Ordered mine about 1.30 this afternoon, glad I didn't wait longer! Picked it up a couple of hours later no problem. Noticed the SG5 was £195 at the time and has gone back up in price now.

They really are doing some great offers at AG at the moment.
Just ordered three "Woodworm" shirts for £14.99 each...that's cheap!
Just hope they fit me though..does anybody else have any of this brand, and if so do they come up reasonably decent size or are they "figure hugging?"

I would say your first guess is much closer to the real truth than the latter......

I have a few woodworm shirts and sweaters. They are a generous fit. I generally get a size smaller than I normally get.

Thanks for that Vig.
I'm always in the middle where sizing is concerned. I'm not a fatty but usually buy either large or extra large and it's surprising just how small "large" can be!
I bought some t-shirts from a motorcycle show once, asked the guy what sizes he had, he said "L, XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXL and dartplayer"
:D :D :D :D
