Not sure if anyone has tried one but for the last 3 weeks I have been using a VIP electic cigarette instead of normal smokes. Have to say, they are bloody brilliant! Exactly the same as smoking but no tar. The best thing is that it's legal indoors although I still have problems brining it out and using it when I'm in a public place like the clubhouse.

Anyway, they are available for cheap on Groupon today so thought I'd let you all know about them, I can now confidentially say I had stopped smoking, just need to stop "vaping" now. Oh and it's perfect for the golf course!

Interesting, I just stopped 8 months ago by..........erm...just stopping.........I might try this to help a very close friend stop who really needs the crutch! Does it actually blow out smoke? Surely any smoke is bad for your breathing.

It blows out smoke but it's just vapour rather than smoke. They really are superb. And cheaper than smoking too.

You can get really into "vaping" and get loads of different bits of kit and flavours. Wish I had found it years ago.

A mate of mine is on these, or similar. He thinks they are brilliant. He tried one at the airport, but was told to put it away, at gun point (I guess refusing, and arguing that it wasn't real wasn't the best idea he ever had). Some airlines do allow them though, some don't.

The best thing for me other than health issues is out on the course, no more putting smokes down on the wet grass, no more having to roll a smoke in the wind, no more rolling the night before an early comp start and having them all dry out, not more crushed packs of smokes in your pocket, simply out of the pocket, couple of puffs and straight back in the pocket.

This was an added benefit according to my friend. You can have a couple of puffs, and put it away. You don't feel like you have to smoke the whole cigarette.

I usually find that 3/4 hits on it is enough, you have to smoke it a little different to a normal cigarette in that you have to take a slower and longer pull on it and feel the vapour building up in your mouth.

Got to agree , i've used the vap stick , about £10 diposable and a rechargeable nicolites one . And they are very good. Great being able to stick two fingers up to the do-gooders, you cant smoke in here brigade. I had a guy tap me on the shoulder in the cinema a couple of weeks ago .

I found them too weighty, not found one that's not too long either.

The throat hit works though, feels almost like smoking.

Unfortunately for me, I no longer use mine and went back to tabs.

You're in Saudi, smokes are a £1 a pack over there! No wonder you went back to them.

very proud of myself as I'VE GONE FROM 20/30 a day to zero!Had a big bust up with SWMBO on Sun12/2/12 about me smoking,had a bit of pmt/man temper -threw the pack at(her)bin and said various things along the lines of "right then shove them etc,etc<>?!!!
Later that night she comes downstairs and says "by the way,do you realise that you have 1800 ciggies upstairs from our last cruise!"
Offered to take up smoking again until I had made my way thro them and was told to sod off and sell them up at the club at the price she paid for them!!!
Still miss the weed,especially out on the course when I hit a shitty shot(no wonder I got thro so many)

I'd question that, not sure if it's possible for it to burn anything as nothing is hot or is alight.

3 days and counting so far, feel fine.

Big test at the weekend with a drink though.
