Anyone close to the Thames Valley interested in trying the R11, new superfast etc, Bird Hills American Golf near Maidenhead have a TM demo day between 3.00 and 7.00 on the 10th. I'm going to wander along on the off chance the new forged irons will be there as I'm keen to give them a go and compare them with a Mizzy. Also want to try a superfast fairway wood

Cheers Homer. I'm off on Thursday :) (having a lesson at my place in the morning) so I'll definately try to pop along. Not a great TM fan but should be fun.

and sky one badly if you get the chance ;)

Seriously Homer, if you don't sky one have a good look at the demo clubs and see what they look like after a good beating. It'll be interesting to know how they stand up To W.A.T...

I work in Bourne End... What time you going along Homer? after work?

I'll be there about 5.15 or so

I guess I will be a little later than that and the AG site was down so I don’t yet know where exactly it is but I will introduce myself if I make it down there. I would love to have a play with the Superfast 2.0.

Well all in all that was a let down. All the blurb and the spiel from the AG staff (yes Idon't know why I believed it either) said it would the full TM experience. In the end all they had were the drivers. There were a few shaft options (not many) for the R11 and the Superfast came in 9.5 (R and S) 10.5 (R & S) and NT (in R) plus the R 11 fairway woods. Tried the R11 and still don't like it. The superfast 10.5 R was the best of the ot for me but not as consistent as my club. Pretty gutted as I wanted to hit the 2.0 burner irons and they said the new 2011 irons would be there (now not due until end of April). I also wanted to see if I could persuade myself to like the wedges they have (with changeable) face and that performance was better than looks and couldn't do any of it. Very poor show and feel let down by TM and AG. Not happy

Gutted, I would have thought they would have had all the toys. The Burner driver did not blow you away then?

The burner was a decent club and I hit the 10.5 regular well but not a whole lot better than my old Tour Burner so would never consider the change to be worth it. More gutted the promised irons (of any description) didn't materialise

I had the day off anyway and turned up at 3 to see if they had any spare slots. They didn't. There was only one flightscope and that wasn't working. One TM guy who was pre-occupied with the people who had booked and an AG guy who was helping him. I said I'd be interested in trying some of the drivers and then went and hit a basket in a nearby bay with my own bats but no one bothered to offer me anything to try so I just went.

I wasn't too fussed actually as I was hitting my old Cally GBBII pretty well and at least it looks like a golf club not an Essex girl's handbag. :D

PS before the complaints start Mrs MN is from Billericay.

They got the monitor working and were using it for the booked R11 slots when I got there. The AG guy was dealing with the other customers but asking the TM for advice (unusual for AG) so that any tweaks were made with a modicum of circumspection. I tried the 10.5 in various tweaks and the good ones were longer than my Burner but off centre weren't as forgiving. The Superfast was interested as I've alread posted especially the noise. Not a great fan of either

Glad for the guys who booked that they got the Flightscope working. Would like to have a go on one some day just to see what the relationship is between the numbers and what I see and feel. Might be tempted to book a slot if they do a Cally day. In all honesty they probably guessed I wasn't that interested in the R11 from the pained expression on my face when I looked at it. :D
