I can’t understand why anyone with a young family would play golf Christmas Day.
Imagine watching the kids open their presents, then saying “right I’m off golfing”Christmas Day, no. Not with having a family. If you are single, why not?
At my first club a Boxing Day Texas scramble was hugely popular and I used to play that with my FiL and BiL back in the day. No more now, current club doesn't do anything.
There is a bad memory for me I was a child in the 50/60s when nothing was open on Christmas day and my parents often bought me a toy which needed batteries and forgot to buy themI wouldn't as I've got young kids, imagine walking out when there's plastic rubbish to be assembled and batteries to be sourced.

What I have noticed lately is the number of toys with 'batteries not included' on the box and when I go to post the grandchildren presents and say toys at the post office I am always asked if batteries are in the parcel as they will not accept it if there is.
I'm too busy keeping out of the way to play golf5 tee times booked at my club. I’m too busy peeling potatoes and sprouts to be playing golf.
