I would probably go but it's too wet this year. Might use the opportunity while it's quiet to let my dogs have a good charge round the place and maybe even sniff me out some new balls

One tee time booked at our club.
Personally we have a lot of the family coming for Christmas and I do the cooking and wouldn't dream of golfing.
If I didn't have the family I don't see why not. Different circumstances for different people.

Christmas Day, no. Not with having a family. If you are single, why not?

At my first club a Boxing Day Texas scramble was hugely popular and I used to play that with my FiL and BiL back in the day. No more now, current club doesn't do anything.

Imagine watching the kids open their presents, then saying “right I’m off golfing” 😬

Plus the mrs would probably wrap my driver around my head.

I played on Xmas day once . I was early 20s and still lived at home with my mum& dad. I was hungover and needed fresh air . What could be better … When I was on the course there was a husband & wife playing also .. No chance of me being able to do it now

Course is open, clubhouse closed. Looking at the start sheet a few groups are going out.

I used to play 9 on Christmas morning when everyone else was still sleeping or just getting up. Back home in time for making lunch. But not done it for a few years now.

There’s about 30 in our fuddle, 1 lad is playing Boxing Day. All the others are with family. Feel a bit sorry for the lad who wants to play as he has family but prefers golf.

I wouldn't as I've got young kids, imagine walking out when there's plastic rubbish to be assembled and batteries to be sourced.
There is a bad memory for me I was a child in the 50/60s when nothing was open on Christmas day and my parents often bought me a toy which needed batteries and forgot to buy them

What I have noticed lately is the number of toys with 'batteries not included' on the box and when I go to post the grandchildren presents and say toys at the post office I am always asked if batteries are in the parcel as they will not accept it if there is.

Why's that? Do batteries still explode?

I take the wife to the beach (Suffolk girl) as is our tradition, she likes to have a dip in the sea while I stand guard looking out for sharks, then open a bottle of bubbly.

Playing in today's competition and it's 7C less then yesterday, so a nice 31C.
