Has anyone got one- how do you get on with it and what's the ball flight like?

I would say my hybrid is my least favourite club in the bag (yeah I know I need to probably learn to hit it better). But I think I just prefer the look of an iron behind the ball when not off the tee

I'm the same as you, hybrid is the least favourite and just prefer an iron.

I've got a T-MB 2 iron coming on friday along with my new AP2 716's. All custom fit at Titleist HQ. I was hitting the 2 iron 230 (carry) on the trackman on the range and that wasn't even trying. For me, it was so easy to hit and launch high into the air (which is why i went for a 2 iron rather than 3 iron).

Probably not going to get the same distance as an equivalent hybrid, but its much straighter and gives me more confidence. I'll only be hitting it off the tee. I carry my 4 iron 215-220 so that should cover most long shots into par 5's.

I can see you already have lots of titleist gear. You will love the T-MB if you don't get on with hybrids.

My boss has got the three iron and after his recent back surgery has let me have it on loan. Compared to my hybrid the ball is alot lower but alot more penetrating.
After about 4 outings with this club i can say its a nice club for taking off the tee but for me i think summer greens would make me switch back to a hybrid

I have the 4 iron and I like it very much.

Easy to hit, even miss hit shots fly off the clubface very well, off the fairway.

I haven't tried it from rough of any depth so can't comment on that, but that's what my hybrid is for.

Ditto the above for me.

I also have the 2 iron, and it (imo) is nowhere near as easy to hit, probably due to being a bit longer (the club, not the distance it hits the ball!).

When i had a test with one this is exactly how i found them - same as the Mizuno MpH that I use

I have both the 816H2 and TMB 3.

The TMB is much improved on the 712u. Flight is much more aligned with an iron, but you will need to be a serious ball striker to get it to stick on firm greens. Keeping mine for summer links golf.

Went into Greaves sports in Glasgow yesterday for a shot on their monitor and liked it a lot but like you said it's not gonna be an easy iron for me to get to stop as dont have the SS to get it up in the air. Had less Carry than my hybrid but with roll out on monitor was going further.

Decisions decisions for me...my trak can be quite windy so this would be a better alternative in those conditions and also there are a few holes at mine I struggle to make in 2 which this would definitely help but there's one par 3 that my hybrid suits perfectly with the high flight and distance.

I'd love to test the 4 iron TMB vs my AP1 4 iron as it's a club I feel I hit well if not get as good a distance as I'd want (5 yards carry distance between 5 and 4)

I'm a bit like you in that I prefer an iron over a hybrid, looks like your a bit of a titleist fan, but don't discount the adams pro dhy, easy to get up in the air, looks like an iron and sneaky long. Like you my track is windy but this has a lower flight than a hybrid albeit higher than an iron, stops on the green as well (when I hit the green)

I guess where there's a will there's a way, but I read they're only available as a full set in the East, and we have up to 5 iron available to us.

I'm not sure I'd want a full set. They look nice but there isn't a lot of feel to them.

Titleist will do it for you as a custom fit through their HQ. They can do most things.

Not sure i'd like a full set either, bit to clunky for my liking.

My shop just called to say they have taken delivery of my AP2's, SM6's and T-MB 2 iron. All ready for collection tomorrow morning. Feels like Christmas eve!!

I never got on with hybrids either even after persevering with Titleist 910h and 913hs. Recently I was at at a Titleist custom fit for a new fairway wood as the long part of my game was the weakest part, and I was persuaded to try the new 816H1. What a revelation! It looks like a fairway wood with it's larger head and fills you with confidence especially from the rough. I have now ditched my 4 iron in favour of the 816 and haven't looked back. Give it a try.

For someone that plays a lot of links golf, golf on windy tracks, I would choose the TMb. I would guess that on a course built around wind, you can run it onto greens rather than trying to hold it.

Picked up my new T-MB 2 iron today. Trackman stats was showing 235 carry average... Beautiful club

Took it to the range this evening and can't believe how easy this is to hit and how far it launches into the air.

For anyone who is in two minds about a hybrid, go try this T-MB, even the 3 or 4 will suit most people... Superb club

Ok so at the weekend on last few holes the wind was crazy strong- playing hybrid was not an option so I will be looking to purchase ones of these.

Question is should I go for a 3 Iron as hybrid replacement and can interchange dependent on weather, or a 2 Iron which for me probably harder to hit- but could still be a replacement or keep both in and lose something from bottom end of the bag when I'm swapping about for more options?

I wouldn't really recommend the 2 iron to anyone, unless they are a stupidly good and consistent ball striker. You'll get more forgiveness off the 3 iron due to loft and you can always deloft it to play it lower.

disagree with this. The 2 iron is so easy to hit in my view.

If you struggle hitting a 17 degree 2 iron, you'll probably struggle hitting a 20 degree 3 iron. Enter the hybrid... whole point of hybrids easier to hit and high launch.

Turkish: might be difficult to find somewhere that has both the 3 and 2 iron to hit, but its the only thing worth doing to see for yourself whether the club is for you.
