Titleist Iron Help

I currently have 2 *Titleist Vokey wedges which I really enjoy using. I get a lovely clean, thin divot, strike with them. My question is- which model of Titleist Iron set would closely resemble these in play? (I am a single figure H'cap)

Either CB, MB or AP2

Vokeys are a specialist wedge and not really aligned to any of the iron sets specifically, if you want titleist irons would go and try and of the Ap2, Ap1, CB and MB sets

Would say they resemble the MB closest but big difference hitting a wedge to a 3 or 4 iron MB. Go try them but be honest about your ability as its your bad shots that ruin a round! Had ap2's myself and they are surprisingly forgiving in a small package.

If your a single figure handicapper you'll really like the AP2 or the CB. I'm off 9 and went for the AP2, beautiful clubs

Thanks guys. Was Cat 1 for 20+ yrs- now 9. Have gone down the Ping (game improvement) route for many years but after purchasing and experiencing the Vokeys last year I am yearning for a crisper strike. There are plenty of Titleist sets on eBay so probably will go that route and hold on to my Pings.

If you go for a fitting they will often give you a combo set given your ability.... I played with a 9 handicapper recently who's higher lofted irons were MB's for more feel, vokey wedges but the longer set of the bag was AP2's for a bit more forgiveness.

He swore it improved his game but how much of this is down to mental aspect and how much stats I don't know.

Then again all spieths irons are ap2 and they don't seem to harm him(well until recently anyway)

I use ap2's. The right blend of looks and forgiveness. won't lose money on them if you get a decent deal on eBay if you don't get on With them.

Loved the look and feel of AP2's I just didn't hit mine very well

Go for a hybrid set with the mid short irons being more bladed and the loger irons being more forgiving. I'm a Mizuno man but the approach works well for me having been used to hitting all blades for years.

Yes, thanks, that would certainly be my intention. I would initially only be looking for 5-PW in the irons. I am also considering 2nd hand -ebay - just to try but am concerned about being sold "fakes". Heading to American Golf this afternoon.

Combo sets are the future for us cat 2s (I can still claim right?).

Especially those who don't want hybrids down to a 5 iron.

I would grab a combo set of clevelands if I was kitting out now.

I think some brands work better than others in combos, can't see it working with pings!

13 aces look on titleist.co.uk and look at trial day's schedule. See if a place near you. Then you can try free of charge and go from there. They bring all clubs mate. It's a good 30 mins spent.

Just a quick update. Have tried a few irons and after all that I decided that I liked the Ping i's the best!!!! I must be a "brand" man as I have been playing Pings for many years. Going for a fitting and further trial session with Trackman etc later this week. Will report again after that is completed.

Further update. I had an excellent fitting session with my local pro yesterday and the test number results (and feel) are certainly pointing to either Ping G or Mizuno JPX 850. I am maybe leaning towards the Mizuno .
