Well, the Titleist fitter turned up at our local range today and I booked half an hour to check out my driver and look at anything that might be a "life changing purchase" knowing that Trackman was going to give all the stats

I hit some shots with my driver and it showed a slight fade and a smash factor of 1.49 average, the fitter suggested trying a slightly stiffer project x 5.5 shaft (same as my irons) to try and reduce a quite high spin rate. The resulting change worked a treat and I gained 20 yards with a straighter hit. We tried the 3 wood next and he figured that nothing Titleist was better than my Mizuno 3 wood, we then looked at my wedges which were Titleist and a suggestion that I bend my 52* to 50 to give a better range through the wedges.

Half an hour gone and possibly £60 spent - is that a result??? (and he gave me 2 pro v 1's)

Is that all the new shaft and grip with the adapter will cost? That's good!

That's a great average smash factor. What was your spin and what did the PX give you?

1.49 smash factor and he wanted to change things:confused: 1.5 is perfect afaik

Thats right but the spin rates were quite high. With the new shaft the spin rate came down to acceptable levels and the smash factor stayed at 1.49 with an extra 20 yards with a straighter hit.
I tried my six iron too and all the figures were exactly what you would want - not bad as my pro custom fit me by eye a year ago

I can't remember all the stats but the high spin was caused, he said, mainly because my shaft was too light, so he gave me the heavier shaft Project x to add weight and reduce spin. On the trackman the old and new shaft gave pretty much the same trajectory

Sounds good mate, keep checking your stats and as your'e new clicky hip beds in you can change your shaft every 3 months.....

PS note I did not copy the 'extra 20 yards' quote and say something childish like - 'up to 150 then eh?' - I am trying to be nice...thankyou

Scott, you are so much nicer than other posters (who will remain nameless) on this forum!

But I have just tweaked your post a little for the sake of accuracy
