Tipping advice for Belek trip

When we go, as a large group to Spain, one of our group always gives the head barman a decent sized tip for him and his staff on the first night. Unsurprisingly we get very good service and a few times access on all-inclusive to drinks that would normally not be in our package.
Similarly we have tipped the caddie master in Morocco on the first day at the course we were staying on and playing a few times, clubs got cleaned every day and we were allowed to jump in ahead of a large group one day.
Tip big and tip early is not a bad motto.

For those who do tip, do you also tip the same people in this country? I know it isn't the norm in the UK, but why do you feel you need to in other countries? (USA aside, as you are likely to get shot if you don't tip!)
I would always tip anyone who cleans my room no matter what country I was in.
