My Taylormade 2007 Burner is showing signs of its age, I'm somewhat worried about swapping it because on the whole this old stick has been quite good to me.

Has anybody moved from one of the old TM Burners and if so what to and did you ever look back?

General driver recommendations gratefully received.

The R9 is a good driver and you can get a damn good price on them now. Our pro was knocking out the "proper" R9 (not the 460) for about £149.
:)

Yeah I recently swapped my Burner but I never really got on with it. I went for the Ping G15 which really seems to suit me although it was close between that and the Yonex nano i3. Both great clubs and similar results on the swing recorder but the Ping just felt right.

Play with an old Burner, while ago i changed it for an R5 but never got on as well so sold the R5 and am back with the Burner, am tempted again with either an R9 or a newer Burner but won't trade in the old one just in case.

I would invest the time in getting fitted for the right club and shaft. The worst thing would be to buy one, not get on with it and go back to your old club within a week!

Fitting means you know someone with a good eye has helped you get kitted out and all you need to do is stick with it and it will click.

Just make sure you go to someone with a good reputation!

I have just moved from a Tour Burner to the new Burner Superfast..

Haven't been on course with it yet so no results as far!

I really did like my Tour Burner and was a tough decision to change, but it was a 10.5deg and i've a quick enough swing that i can utilise a lower loft so that helped sway the decision. Off for 18 tomorrow so will post the results after then.

sawtooth, what are your stats like and do you need the extra distance. Like you i was considering a driver change but the fact is i can hit all my par 4's in 2 easy and im not a short driver, but my fairways hit stats are pretty spot on.

10 yards extra on my drives isnt going to make or break my score card, btter iron play is so i put the money down on another course of lessons.

Up until last month I had the TM Tour Burner. Brilliant bit of kit and served me well.

Just upgraded to a TM R9 and, in my opinion, this club outshines the Tour Burner.
