Tim Clark - Anchored Putter ban solution

I'm sure he won't be alone in trying different putters and ways of getting around the ban but I think it's a hideous looking putter. I bet if it's on general sale it'll come with a hefty tag too
 
The main difference between the anchoring that they have banned and allowing the club to rest against the forearm is that the former has a static pivot point, (chest chin, belly, etc), and allows the putter to be swung as a pendulum, whereas the latter still has a moving part, even thought the club is resting against the forearm.

I think the ban was right and don't see a problem with Kuchars method.

Yet if you have a normal putting stroke like the majority, if the elbows are tucked into your sides that can be deemed as anchoring and in breach? All this has done is cause more controversy then the years that they have anchored.

Tucking your elbows in is not anchoring, even under the new rules.
 
Tim Clark's problem is an inability to rotate his forearms or wrists to the normal extent. I would have thought that this would be an advantage when putting, so can anybody explain why he has to use a long or special putter? :confused:

Not from what Paramour was intimating at recently with Alan Hanson. Unless I heard it wrong or misunderstood, and I've not read the new rules. And if what your saying is true, just wondering why Michelle Wie has now changed (or is changing from what I've seen) her stance back to a conventional stance, as her table top technique certainly had her elbows down her sides, so I'm not sure TBH, something has been said to her that's changed her back?

John Paramor said touching your belly when putting conventionally is OK - listening to what he said though there could be an interpretation if you are holding your left arm tight deliberately to keep an anchor point that would be a problem

well he's going to struggle in not touching his belly? :whistle:
 
Most of these guys became tour quality pro's using normal putters. Surely most of their problems must be psychological.
If they were forced to go back to using normal putters they would eventually find a way to get the ball in the hole.
