Tiger v gmac

Was half asleep but thought I heard on TV that Els needed third if Manassero failed to win in Agadir.

I don't mind a Tiger win if it keeps him out of the frame for Augusta.

How on earth would a Woods win keep him out of the frame for Augusta - more likely this first win for a while spurs him on to bigger and better, starting at Augusta in a few weeks

So far so good for Woods. Only G-Mac can stop him. After the poor double on the first G-Mac has looked very impressive.

I ain't been on Google, but not many have won a green jacket coming off the back of a win in the week(s) preceding. A win could well spur a significant increase in the tips jar at the local Hooters tonight however.

lol, the betting mkts seem to have a strong different view to you the effect a win would have on Tiger here. That and the fact that this isnt even the last tourney before the masters, got the Shell Open next week

I think Tiger is too good a player to not win again, but can he do it when its a Major and ALL the good players are there. Time will tell.

I reckon Tiger hsa got this unless he has a meltdown, but its hard to tell if he would be first if Luke, Westy and Rory were all in the field... still it would be a massive confidence boost for him and I think it would make the chance of a win at the Masters all the more likely as their wouldn't be question marks over his swing and it would make the other competitors a bit nervy knowing tigers peaking in time for the masters

PGA commentary that should be bleeped out:
1. You da man
2. In the hole
3. Go get him Tiger
4. Wow
5. Frontside / Backside
6. Just about anything uttered by that Jonny Miller clown

Awesome from Tiger, great to see him put 4 rounds together and close it out for the win :) McDowell did well to hold it together considering his start and the struggles with the putter

Personally I think it's a foregone conclusion that Tiger can do it in a major. He looks to have it's game in total control to me and more importantly, he's making putts, I honestly can't believe there is still any doubt.

At very least, he is on a par with everyone else so has as good a chance as any of winning at Augusta but on top of that, he knows how to win at Augusta and he has the taste again.

It's building up to be an extremely exciting weekend everyone seems to be on form just hope it turns out that way could be anyone from last 5 groups but a tiger leftie shoot out does sound appealing and would be great viewing

Ok, he won yesterday but the top 6 golfers in the world weren't there.
It's a bit like saying Sunderland could win the league if Man U and Chelsea and Man C and Spurs and Arsenal weren't playing.
Now that Tiger has won, can you imagine what the media coverage will be like at the Masters?
I know it's not Tiger's fault but it will be the Tiger show from start to finish.

It's certainly thrown the cat amongst the pigeons with regard to the Luke/Rory - who's going to win the Masters debate.
Little in golf is guaranteed but it's a pretty fair bet that Tiger will be there or thereabouts come the 18th on Sunday...

My point is Bob, on current form he's no worse than the top 6 ranked players in the world, if you think one of those can win the masters it's either lunacy or complete Tiger hatred to doubt that Tiger can. I'm not saying he will win but I don't think you can doubt he's not in with a shout. Personally, I don't think Westwood can win, I don't think his short game or putting and if I had to put money on him or Tiger I know where my money would be

I thought we were going to have a great sporting competition for the Masters this year anyway & can anyone say the event itself is any the worse for having an resurgent Tiger (I'm not counting the media hype/cr$p as part of the comp)

Surely it can only add to the on course challenge & entertainment

Edit: Is it just me or have the clocks not gone forward on the timestamps for this site?
