Tiger trouble. Good read this.

Agreed its a good read, however the writer even admits himself he is not the most impartial of folk to be commenting due to his friendship with Haney.

I would have said, if the writer had waited until next weekend to publish his story then he may have re-worded it, or not even gone with it at all had he watched Tiger's performance in the 4th round at Sawgrass last night.

I can see where the writer is coming from, but it is clear for all to see that there is something wrong with Tiger's swing at the moment. I've never seen him hit so many wayward shots....even short iron shots from 100yds or so are landing 10yds off target, and we all know this isnt Tiger!!

Its a good article, and certain parts of it may be true, but I think a lot of "blame" (if thats the correct way to put it) for Tigers recent dismal ball striking can be laid squarely at the door of Haney and he can have no arguments about it.

I think the part about Woods leaving Haney open to undue flak without responding was pretty accurate along with the football manager analogy and the inevitability of his services being surplus to requirements at some point.

However I do agree that there is obviously something wrong with Woods and his game at the moment but I wish he'd be a bit more open for once and admit his game isn't where he'd like it to be but his working hard, makking slow progress etc etc.

At least that way Haney would be protected and the world would know there is a work in progress. We all know when he remodelled his swing it took a year or more to get right and then he was a different class of player when it clicked. The point was he was open about those changes. If its a case of rejigging something else, be as open and honest again and not hide behind "band-aid swing" comments.

I think Wood isn't holing as many putts but I think a lot of that is down to the fact he is now trying to hole 20 footers instead of 10 for birdie and no golfer, even Tiger can make those all of the time. If you want proof, read Dave Pelz's book on putting where he dissected statistics on PGA putting over numerous years.

There is a dip in Tigers game at the moment. Is it a blip or a technical fault. We'll probably never know but rest assured the next time he wins Haney won't get a mention

I think its a very good read and clearly shows the conflict between statistics, reality and perceptions. I enjoyed reading it especially when after the masters I turned to my nephew who is a Tiger fan and said "He lost it because his putting wasn't up to it". But all my nephew could remember was the wayward wild stuff along with the misjudged comments by those err, in the know, and he said I was talking crap!. ;)

Im used to it now. :D

A interesting read. With the technology today it shouldn't be too hard to see what is causing the blips. Ultimately the guy hitting the ball has to carry the blame if he can't produce the shots he's been told to. I don't think anyone said "Miss the green by 10 yards on the right".

I wonder if Tiger's having to mess with his swing for necessity or wanting.

my 2cents.
