Would it?
I’d think it was classless, as Tigers ‘joke’ was.
But, ya know, it’s Tiger innit…..
If it was a mate (like JT) doing it then yeah it might be classless but it would still be a joke between mates.
Boundaries are different between mates, you've earned the right to give them some stick.
For me I view this a bit like if a mate called me a d**k I wouldn't be offended, I'm fact they could call me what they wanted. However, if some randomer off the street came up to me and called me a d**k I'd be more likely to take offence.
Am I meant to be upset by it?They told me to post this picture of a man arrested with drugs in his system to see how you’d react. View attachment 46513
Yep. There is actually a lot dumbness to doing on that platform.Still can’t believe he went to the effort of actually getting said item and packing it in his bag, particularly for a high profile tournament that he’s the host of, that’s some dedication to “banter”, right there…!
He’s done it in front of the golfing world when EVERYBODY is looking for any opportunity to criticise players, tours, organisers, presidents etc.
It’s quite clear that MANY prominent females in the golfing world find it, disrespectful or worse.
It is sexism in action, denigrating the abilities of female golfers ‘for a laugh’ at a particularly sensitive time.
He can do what he likes for me, but he has to live by the consequences of his actions. Fortunately for Tiger, he WILL get an easy ride over this due to the loyalty of his supporters.
I’m sure the PIP money will soften the blow….

Very much this. But that is the difference here...
If you'd have done that to your PP on a Sunday morning, halfway down the 3rd hole, it gets lost in the wind - that's banter...
When you do it in, possibly, the most televised 3 ball in the history of history it becomes public.
And it's not a good look for a sport that has historically kept women in the shadows....lots of work is being done to bring women into the game
But if Tiger infers that hitting it like a girl is a bad thing then much of that work could be wasted.
Done by someone else in a different 3 ball - nobody would be any the wiser - Fact. But this is Tiger.
He should know better and I hope his PR team are sitting with their heads in their hands..he's showing that the old attitudes still exist.
No he’s not.He is not just taking the mick out of his mate, he is saying that females are less able than men and that is not acceptable
The leading golfer on the LPGA tour has an average driving distance of 271 yards. The leading golfer on the PGA tour has an average driving distance of 322 yards. Off the tee male professional golfers hit the ball further than female professional golfers. That's not sexist or suggesting women aren't as good as men, it's just a fact, they don't hit it as far. You have to go down to the golfer in 213th place for driving distance on the PGA tour, which is 269 yards, before you find one that averages less than the leading female professional. If men and women were equal then you wouldn't need to have two tours or separate categories in any other sport.

He is literally using the fact that women don’t hit it as far as men as a ‘banter’ point to take the pee out of his mate for his lack of distance from the tee, which part of this do you not see as being sexist? The leading golfer on the LPGA tour has an average driving distance of 271 yards.
