Tiger cheating!

To the best of my memory that wasn't shown so mere speculation ..........

But why do it?

Would you throw your marker down behind your ball at least a 1" away then try guess where your ball actually was when you marked it?

Wasn't it one of the Saltman brothers that got a ban for something similar?

Yes they did it more than once but who's to say Tiger hasn't but his playing partners won't speak up due it being Tiger.

But how does he know where the correct place is if he places his marker a 1" away from where his ball was?

Maybe he always puts his maker that far away or he remembered ?

Im no Woods fan - an if he put the ball back wrong then i would expect him to be sanctioned and DQed etc - but we know its not going to happen with the amount of money he is being given

Whilst not normally the first to defend Tiger, have to defend the accusation of cheating in this case. Firstly we do not know where he replaced the ball. Secondly how is placing the marker an inch behind his ball give him any sort of advantage, if he replaces in the normal manner then his ball will be further from the hole than it ought to be. Sloppy yes, against the rules maybe, cheating defiantly not.

I think that's what they call conjecture. Yes it looks like an odd thing to do but it's a huge leap from "odd" to "cheat"

I seen it and he didn't move the marker when it was put down, just lifted the ball and threw it to his caddie in a strop.

Not sure how he replaced it, so I think the only infringement would be if he didn't replace in the exact place, which would be difficult for him to judge considering the marker doesn't give him an accurate guide.

And those who say it wouldn't be mentioned if someone else done it are probably correct, as we don't get to see others half as much as Tiger during tournaments.
I like Tiger, he is the biggest thing to happen to Golf ever, if it was't for him there wouldn't be the money in the game that we currently see, but with the influence he has, incidents such as this are big news and let him down.

If he replaces the ball in the normal manner, like you say, and the ball is further away, then it's a penalty. If he doesn't call it then he cheated............speculation yes, but just answering your post.

Like I said earlier the thread title was tongue in cheek,.

Simon Dysons alleged tapping down of a spike mark looked "odd" and he got branded a cheat.

You should probably rethink your thread titles then, "cheat" isn't something you accuse someone of even jokingly.

As for Dyson, he wasn't branded a cheat by all of us.

But enough to make it stick

Sadly, you maybe right

An he wont ever get the passionate defence that Woods get nor will Woods be treated the same as Dyson

The PGA etc don't mind making an example of the smaller players - just look at what the officials did to Tiang last year when other players were just as slow as he was
