3 times in a week now I have been pished on, on the golf course, played at Crieff today and got drenched and to make it worse it was bloody baltic too!!

Had enough, canny be arsed playing in weather like this, just as well I've got a great set of waterproofs and was bone dry underneath but Jesus I felt like I was hyperthermic!!

No foreign golf trip to look forward to this year either, will I ever play in short sleeves this year??!!:(

On the plus side had some cracking news from a pal when I got home...flags oot to celebrate and a can of Steller to celebrate!!

Been thinking this too. Played last weekend, in 8 degrees, plus rain. Last year it was 23 degrees that weekend. Fed up with it.

yup its pretty depressing, even at the supposedly dry weekend I had beeny hat on and 4 layers (no brolly as the forecast said dry all day but it poured 3 times!!)

needing new waterproofs, what do you have?

Me too Steve.... Touch of breeze but rather nice.........
Course drying up and looking decent(ish)

Amazing what difference a few days make. Theyve been able to get out there and get it all cut, looks really nice though still needs drying out in places, greens a bit slow too. Just good to be able to get back out again, should be pretty much back to normal now by next week :)

Was up for a putting lesson at our place and was surprised to see the course open. Water lying on 1st and 16th fairways, HUGE puddle on 17th green and water lying to the side of 18th green.

It's only 5 weeks until the shortest day of the year - there's been hee-haw golfing weather so far this year.

On the up-side, the putting lesson was good :)

Rumour has it the cloudy and cold weather due to last until after the Jubille so at least another two weeks worth. Not a great prospect and more rain forecast for Berkshire over the weekend. Played 9 yesterday and it was pretty dry considering and there was lots of new grass growing so not all bad. Rough though is silly deep and too much so for a lot of golfers. Hard to find let alone move the ball forward

Homer,it is no fun and I really hope your forecast is wrong!!

Those two things could be taken care of with a trip to Ballyliffin

I was going to go out twice this week and looked out the window and thought sod it. I would like to play golf nevermind in short sleeves :(

Played last night and the course was totally dry. The greens needed watering after a sunny windy day. The course being heathland obviously helps, but we did have major drainage work done about ten years ago which made a huge difference.

Good news for me that I can start putting from 30 yards off the green again.;)

Had a game tonight, teed off at 6 and was light rain and 12deg, 3 holes in temp dropped to 5deg but felt a lot colder due to the wind and rain.
On the plus side had my best round on Rosemount despite the conditions shot 76 from the back tee's with a 7 on the par 4 fourth hole, don't ask lol.

The game is coming together then mate

Dodger, the one thing that im noticing more than anything with this weather is the lack of growth around the fairways and the rough, our greens are good but still pretty soft.

Come on sunshine, show your napper FFS

Soaked at the Royal Musselburgh open yesterday; weather varied from dreich to torrential rain. The course held up pretty well considering but was starting to get some water on the greens.

I'm yearning for a short sleeves round in the sunshine!
